I'm not too big on Strawbs, but that's personal choice. I can't comment on Horizont or Nektar. PFM all seems well and good, but are you getting the English or Italian version of L'isola? It's hard to tell with that description, and obviously the Italian version's the better of the two.
Gryphon - first four. Fantastic. :D
After Crying - Fold Es Eg. Not the place for a newcomer to their music. Much better to start with Megalothingummywing or De Profundis. If you're already a fan and you like ELP then go right ahead.

Hope that helps. :)

well, i chose Fold Es Eg because I heard one song from that album and really liked it, something about a manticore, why should i check out the other two albums first?

You meant to say "Megalázottak és Megszomorítottak", I suppose...

Lovely album... it even has one of the best names for an album ever.

Well, I have absolutely no idea what it means, but I just love the rhytm of it when it's read aloud really fast...

Cheers

The Doug song

Doug pets his dog
Dog watches Doug
Dog feels the stress
Doug gives dog bone
Dog sniffs his butt
While Doug gets dressed
Dog seems impressed
With Doug's cologne

Well, it's not really the best starting point for their work. The first half of the album is a rather clumsy (in my opinion) tribute to ELP, which isn't very similar to their general sound. You'd do much better with De Profundis or... that one Beau mentioned that I can't spell nor have time to bother cutting and pasting here.

he means Doug Larson whose link is on almost every page!

Doug was fast and correct (both in price, quality and service) when concerning CDs. Re the old vinyls, I am a bit less positive. He is expensive and the state of the discs is a bit over-rated. I will not order further vinyls to him. But as far as CDs are concerned.

As for your list Aaron, it s quite a fine selection as far as Italian groups are concerned! However if you have not listened to Banco , yet , get an ear on it before ordering those three CDs (they are the classic ones , though). Banco is rather difficult at first!

If it is the Gryphon box-set with the Mini-lp cardboard covers, Go for it! Recycled is among the best Nektar album!

I am not a big fan of After Crying but I believe De Profundis is the best one along with 6.
