There are a lot of nuts in the world that get a lot of attention around here, and spark a lot of debate, but how about a hand for the real nuts? The seeds, the drupes, the legumes and so forth!
I love all nuts, even some of the human ones that make life interesting...but you can't eat those.
Unless....

Cashew for me. Though most of these are pretty good.

What are these nuts you speak of? I am only aware of these chewy things designed to deliver salt to my mouth... Cashews seem to maximize salt delivery, so I'll vote for them!
P.S. You can eat whatever you want up here in Canada, I don't know what you crazy people are doing down there in FLA!?

Welcome to It's a Nutty, Nutty, Nutty World. We're just
nuts about nuts. Crunch nuts with your lunch. Buy them by the bunch.
Send them to friends far away to munch.
I went with hazelnut mainly due to Nutella.

Even though its not really a nut I went with the mighty Peanut because there's certainly nothing better than cracking the shell on one of these bad boys.

I went with hazelnut because of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrero_Rocher - Ferrero Rocher

Peanuts because you couldn't have peanut butter without them. Or Reese's, or peanut M&Ms, or that little extra crunch in Kung Pao chicken.

I suppose chili nuts are pimped peanuts? So it's peanuts for me.

Almonds every time. Except for Marc Almond - give me the hard shell, not the soft cell.

No nut in the world can beat the walnut. I can't resist it because of its own characteristic taste!
The hazelnut is a good second because it fits perfectly with chocolate. Not only Ferrero Rocher, but any combination with pure chocolate will do.

Ever tried pickled walnuts?
That's why I voted almonds!

If you love hazelnuts, you'd go crazy in Italy... Those slabs of milk chocolate with hazelnuts are simply to die for! Needless to say, I voted for them, especially on account of their affinity with chocolate.

Although bearing (in English) the name of my country I don't like too much what we call here castanha-do-pará.
My favorite is indeed cashew nut and it's funny 'cause I know a guy here that wasn't aware that cashew is primarily a tasteful fruit.

I voted Brazil Nuts. You guys are nuts for not voting Brazil Nuts (see what I did there?).
Anyway, I could almost as easily voted pistachio.

I voted Pistachio although they are all so great. There are so many different for each of the nuts that it's hard to choose. I have this one friend who always has a big tin of mixed nuts in his pantry. There's always a mad dash to find all the cashews from everyone but me. I don't understand their appeal. They're ok alone, but unless they are in an oriental dish, they aren't anything special.

Cashews are great, either alone or in a meal (cashew chicken comes to mind). Pistachios run a close second. So I voted for Cashews, but then again there's nothing like a well-made pecan pie.
------------- Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

Pistache !
Love General MacCauley's comment at Bastogne, when asked by the SS to surrender. His answer "NUTS!" . Not quite the munching kind, BTW!

The peanut. Nothing like shelling peanuts while sitting in the stands on a hot summers day watching a ball game.

Technically, the peanut is not a nut but a legume.

Macadamia, Aussie pride. Don't salt them though, ruins 'em, make good white chocolate.
