It sounds to me like The Mars Volta playing along with Hella's last album. That is to say: not very interesting, although I love Zach Hill.

it sounds like it could be good... but then it sounds a lot like "Bedlam..." which is a bad sign...

Thomas Pridgen wasn't quite insane enough, so they hired Zach Hill??

But seriously, I'm a big fan of TMV and somewhat a fan of Hella, so I'll definitely be checking this out.

I don't think it will.

I'm sure since this project isn't under Omar's name it should have a huge contribution from Zach and co........hopefully.

It sounds great, but hearing the blatant use of  "curse words" was kind of off-putting, other than that it's really interesting.

Alright, this started out promising and quickly descended into boring for me. Is Omar really releasing three albums of this stuff? I mean, the music is cool, but it's just more of the same music, and same production from Omar & co. Nothing truly spectacular. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of excellent stuff on here, and it's neat to see where TMV's inspiration was for Bedlam and putting a guy like Thomas Pridgen behind the kit and also Hella's inspiration for their 666 album came from. But really, much like Omar's other solo/non-TMV output, it doesn't really carry much weight.

I was excited about this, but I really can't stand the non-Mars Volta half.  Hella sounds like trash, and I especially can't stand Zach Hill.

Hi,

LOL ... I still have not heard MV ... I think I'm offended that they rejected a Hipgnosis cover! They probably did not like the subtlety in it which was a commentary about their music in my book ... I'll leave that to your imagination ... Storm has not been wrong about a lot of those subtleties in a long time ... very long time ... in fact, when I look at the album covers he has done, I can not find one!

The album is streaming on Omar's website. And don't anybody dare to diss Zach Hill!
