I've downloaded Spotify today after prevaricating for weeks. I'm really impressed. I've done a quick Gabriel, Yes, Marillion, and Queen search and have been pleasantly surprised to see a good sample of tracks beyond the "usual suspects". I did notice, however, a lack of Crimson, so I assume that Fripp is not allowing any of his work here, either, and a disappointingly low hit for IQ. Anyway, what do others think? Is it worth it? I will certainly use it when I'm working from home as a good alternative to messing about with Media Player. p.s. - sorry if this has been done before. ------------- Enhance your life. This is a really useful tool and great fun. I am not into downloading, nor likely to be in the near future and this has all the benefits but without the cost. I work from home and need to be at the PC for extended periods. When I want to listen properly I use the Hi-Fi but when in the office this is great. I have made playlists for each of my favourite years - 1967-78 and populated each with many of my favourite albums from the period. I never get the time to play more than a couple of albums each night and this is a great way of listening to a lot of my favourite early music. There are a few notable omissions - no Zeppelin, Zappa, Loreena McKennitt, Procol Harum, early Porcupine Tree, early Spock's Beard (Neil era) or Pink Floyd but it has got some Flower Kings, Ayreon, Black Bonzo, Green Carnation, Kaipa, Karmakanic, Pain of Salvation, Riverside, Roine Stolte, Shadow Gallery, Stream of Passion and Thomas Bodin. It has also got some good early stuff - PFM, Banco, Le Orme, Balletto, Cherry Five, Quella Vecchia Locanda, Reale Accademia Di Musica and The Trip. Also Eloy, Kin Ping Meh, Birth Control, Triumvirat, Bloque, Eduardo Bort, Medina Azahara and Triana It's not Hi-Fi as we kow it but highly recommended. |

I think it's useful for listening before buying, or as an PC jukebox.

It's great I seem to use it more than winamp at the momment.But not to great on the prog front though there's plenty of Residents albums :) The only Fripp related things I could find was his album with David Sylvian and Eno's solo stuff.
