We actually were in that area today, and bought about 20 CDs... Really great spot, very bohemian in atmosphere!

great CD shops to be sure..not to mention the Belgian pub with the f**king Eifel Tower on top hahahha ... though those women in that one CD shop sort of scared me... one had a spiked collar around her neck.. and something stuck through her lower lip.. looked like a damn safety pen.. . ergggg. very bohemian indeed hahah

Well you could write and beg them to come west. They were asking fans on their site to give them feedback where they should come in the States.

I had no idea Comus had reformed until I saw this! How extraordinary.
Will they be playing any UK dates at any point? They were a UK band, after all...

Current mood: busy
Hey People,
You
may have noticed that we quietly added something to our profile
yesterday? Well, just in case you didn't, I'd just like to tell the
world that Comus have their first gig in Britain this century! It
is due to happen on the 5th September at the Moseley Folk Festival,
near Birmingham. This festival has hosted many great names under the
umbrella of 'folk' and 'acoustic', but seems to have an interesting mix
of programming, taking a few risks here and there, which we applaud!
Watch out, cos, as you know, Comus are not 'folky' or entirely sweetly
'acoustic'.
Right in the middle of the country, so hopefully easy access for most...be there.
US plans still in train...

Yes people, At
last I can divulge, (well the gig list on our profile has already, but
anyway...) some of the detail of our east coast USA tour, which finally
has some confirmed dates. Have been dying to tell you all, but I just
couldn't jump the gun! As you can see on our profile, there are 3 so
far - Washington DC, Baltimore and Philadelphia, plus about 4 others
which will very probably include Boston, Portland (Maine) and
definately New York, but dates and specific venues may yet be swapped
about. There's also a possibility of Northampton, MA plus one other
venue in Connecticut, but these are still being sorted. So it will be a week to 10 days tour, in early summer - who could wish for anything more?! We
are so looking forward to it, especially as the whole thing had a bit
of a false start with a change of agent, but pleased to say that all is
running really well now. We also have another addition to our team
of fantastically generous people who have offered their help to make
this whole Comus thing happen. Someone who travelled from the States to
the Melloboat performance in Sweden last year, who is very well
connected and experienced in areas of band management, merchandising
etc., who is a huge Comus fan and generally great guy! Another
friend in the US who used to live in England when Comus was first on
the road has also offered generous practical help and again, buckets of
enthusiasm. Will update you all on the other dates as they are confirmed - please check out the gig list. Bobbie.

Is that THE Bobbie Watson (known to us as Bobbie Whatsit) still in Comus ????
Do you remember me, Terry in AYUP 35 plus (!) years ago from Sevenoaks. At the time you were going out ( 'dating') with Chris Allen (AYUP) who played bass. I was on guitar, Mick Porter vocals and guitar with Chris Cobb 'Cobby' drums and John Archer flute and everything else.
Havn't seen anyone around Sevenoaks for years although my Dad still lives in the same house, i live in Bromley. I can still just about play but don't pick up the axe that often. Still trying to finish my Synth I started in 1973 but at 58 the eyes aren't too good.
Still into Prog and good music, Classics and the like ( no hip hop stuff) Prefer to collect and listen to music nowadays than play, I was never very good anyhow, I remember you thought I sounded OK when I got my HH amp though, but I think it was the distorted sound masking my bad playing! No, I'm more likely to be pruning the roses (!) as the years go by.
Good luck with the tour and it's great to see all these old bands still soldiering on.

That's great. Of course, it would be better to see them the first time they played at the melloboat last march. Lucky i did.

I'd love to see them in Philadelphia, however, I'm only 20, just one year short of being able to attend the show.

That sucks man. Johnny Brenda's is the best place in Philly to see a show too.
I'll be there a few inches from the band. Hopefully theyll hang around and a have a few drinks after the set so I can get to know them.

No mention of Canadian dates.
Portland is about 6 hours away... I don't think I'd dare going though, not in May.

Oh wow, I might have to get tickets to the show in Baltimore. $14 at the door = not bad.
For the one who was saying it was an age restricted show in Philly: If you make they drive down to Baltimore, the show is permitted for all ages, for I am 20 years old also.
