I'm searching for music that is both crazily progressive and psychedelic... well, avant-prog is usually more that than the usual psychedelic/space rock, I think.

But in this case, I search for mysticism and music that uses gong :P. Maybe the mysticism means also that the music is somehow dark or heavy, maybe a bit disjointed, and the sound should probably be full/rounded and sharp at times, and somehow atmospheric. And dramatic. Many times a bit like movie music. Also marching music influences are present many times and it suits to the theme we're now looking for. But if you don't know music like that, recommend just any music that is the most psychedelic you know.

This thread is also for other people who are searching for something like this.

There's many kinds of psychedelic music, and it can be symphonic rock, psych-folk, krautrock, space rock, british psychedelia etc, zeuhl, avant-prog, heavy rock (also doom & black metal)... So describe the band (or rather an album) with few words, or more.

Here's some (aren't maybe so mystical but that's why I'm asking you here):
Magma (Zeuhl, and everyone knows this. Actually this is quite much what I'm looking for, or some elements of Magma, like the instruments - remember gong ;) )
Mythos (Mythos. For example song Encyclopedia Terra. Maybe this is krautrock but atmospheric war music also, and say if you know something like this!!)
Acid Mothers Temple etc??
Catherine Ribeiro (Atmospheric, even new age folk with dramatic vocals... but maybe too light for me)
Amon Düül II (Phallus Dei... you know)
Island  (Pictures. Wow.. see also Gnidrolog. Or VdGG)
Gnidrolog (In Spite Of Harry's Toe-Nail)
VdGG.... ELP :D...
Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Metamorfosi, Il Balletto Di Bronzo, Apoteosi, Premiata Forneria Marconi... (I have 100 Italian Symphonic Prog albums and it's useless to list - and maybe those aren't even what I'm looking for now)
Gong (has some Gong ;) I've began to value this more since I just haven't found much more music like this)
Alan Sorrenti - Aria (Much based on the crazy dramatic vocals)
Comus - First Utterance
Man - Do You Like It Here, Are You Settling In? (maybe more basic heavy and psychedelic rock)
Syd Barret... etc. Actually I don't know. Say something!
Vortex, Dün, Koenjihyakkei, Present, Univers Zero, Henry Cow... Avant-prog/Zeuhl/Chamber Rock... There's plenty of it but I would like to find some non-avant-prog music
Shub-Niggurath - Les Morts Vont Vite, Jacula, The Red Masque - Feathers For Flesh ("gothic" avant-garde? anyways - dark!)

Many of these are quite random and you can say every band is somehow psychedelic, but these are bands that came into my mind... And I just don't know psychedelic rock enough to list them so widely).

Recommendations?!

I love all the music you've listed (other than I don't know Man well yet).  How about Comus' First Utterance, though perhaps too occult and disturbing? Art Zoyd, Univers Zero and Present spring to mind.  And Agitation Free's Malesch?  Have to give it some more thought.

No, it's not too occult (How can it be? Occult is the music we're looking for now!), it's very nice. Those avant-prog/chamber rock bands are my favourites, and dark. For example Present's "Le Poison Qui Rend Fou, Pt. 1: Ram Ram Va Faire "Pif Paf"" is amazing and suits for this thread. I should had mentioned it. I have also Agitation Free's s/t but I don't like it much, it's so jazz rock. But I suppose Malesch is whole different thing then...

Try These :
Dies Irae - First
Brainticket - Cottonwood Hill
Spermull
Jane - Jane III, Fire Water Earth & Air, Live At Home. Together
Guru Guru - UFO, Shake Well, Wah Wah, Dance Of The Flames, Kanguru, Unncuts
Cluster - Cluster II
Kostarev Group Live @ Inprog 2003. Works 1978-2006
Spaced out - Unstable matter
Necronimicon - Tips Zum Selbsmord

And I have to say I'm not a big fan of jam rock or improvisation, and for example krautrock seems to be even amateurish at times... But have to check those, thanks! BTW Necronimicon is very nice name.

Ok, it's fair that this thread moved to Prog Recommendations/Featured albums, but now it doesn't get so much publicity :( :D

some bands:
Olive Mess (a bit weird dark zeuhl with dramatic fatal female vocals)
Antonius Rex (some gothic rock, church organ, folk rock, rock - from industrial to earthly music)
