Founded by Gabriel Garber (22; guitar) and Joshua Morrow (20; drums & keyboard) as a duo in 2004, Impure Jazz has taken many forms over the years. In late Spring 2006, the two decided to part ways to pursue solo projects. After a hiatus of about a year and a half, Garber and Morrow decided to rejoin forces in the Fall of 2007, this time enlisting the services of Adam Goode, 20, on bass.

With Goode providing a stabilizing third leg, Impure Jazz caught on quickly in the Bloomington (Indiana) music scene, playing several shows a month, including Bloomington’s Culture Shock Festival.

In the spring of 2008 the band recorded a 4-song demo ( http://www.mediafire.com/?ny1jn3nm1de - http://www.mediafire.com/?ny1jn3nm1de
)
. The demo contains “Pre-Fluffin’ A Muffin (Fluffin’ It Up),” “7891011,” “Section II,” and “Byting The LAN That Seedz.” In late May, Impure Jazz departed on their first ever tour, playing in New York, Vermont, Washington DC, North Carolina, Michigan, and Indiana.

The band has opened for national acts Dosh and Marnie Stern, as well as Britain’s School Of Language.

Impure Jazz’s just finished their first studio effort, a 6-track EP containing new version of their demo tracks along with two new songs called “Huckleberry Tots” and “Ace Of Base.” The EP will be called IJ:I, and is set to be released in early 2009.  Streams of some of the unmastered tracks are up at  http://www.myspace.com/impurejazz - http://www.myspace.com/impurejazz

This sounds like material for JR/F to my ears. I like it - and if that album is really on it's way they deserve to be at least suggested to Dick Heath's team.
