I tried this before, about a year ago, but then I didn't get a lot of reactions. I don't want him to be added to the PA. I'm just curious if anyone here likes his music.

Anyone?

I have been meaning to get some of his albums because he is an influence to Mike Patton and a collaborator with him as well

I have listened to "naked city", it's crazy like music...very experimental, but yes I like it. A little bit noisy, but cool music !!!!

Zorn's discography is so exteneded that I get a bit discouraged!

It took me years to attack Zappa's Oeuvre back in the 80's simply because I did not know where to start and was afraid by the sheer size of his discography! I feel a bit the same way about John Zorn! I tried once one of his Masada series and thought good of it! Maybe I will someday in the near future!

I have 'Naked City' and 'the Unknown Masada' which is a biunch of groups that covered some of Zorn's music.  I like this stuff, it's very crazy.  It makes great driving music.

I have his Ennio Morricone record which is great and a record of different soundtracks he did, which is a little disapointing to me , especially without the visual element.Very interesting musician so and with a huge output ( I haven't seen the common point with Zappa, good point Joren) , lots of music to discover.

I feel the same way with that, I've listened to some Zorn though and it's pretty nice.

All I've really heard is the Naked City stuff, and I love that. In your opinions, what else should I pick up?

Massada and Painkiller rule. I don't think much of Naked City, though.
