Well, these are the shorter iron maiden songs. Unlike the other polls, this one is just which song is the plan best, considering other qualities besides composition.
Of course I had to leave a ton of them out. If one is around 5 1/2 long, chances are, they are located in another of the 3 polls.

This is the best poll of the 3 Zitro .
My favourite isn't there, the very proggy Flight Of Icarus. However, I hate voting for "other" in polls, so I'll pick my number two choice, The Wicker Man .

Have to go with Aces high , that's the perfect opener to any Iron Maiden show.

Children of the Damned, for me. Also Aces High, The Trooper and Out of the Shadows are great.

Still Life - my favorite Iron Maiden song next to "Revelation"
OH! sh*t! Was Revelation on the other poll!?!?

revelations is pretty long for this poll.
I didn't include it in the middle-lengthed one. I thought it was a weak track so I left it out.

These Maiden polls are too difficult - it's a nightmare trying to pick just one track!!!!
I went for Aces High but I also love Genghis Khan, Killers, Trooper, Children of The Damned ... etc... etc.!!

Any shortish song from "No Prayer" to "Virtual II"
They're all rather the same and a bit poo, aren't they?

I'll always be partial to the early aggressive DiAnno era when it comes to their shorter songs.
So Murders In The Rue Morgue it is.
Love that song.

This ones's hard. Is this only studio tracks, or live versions as well? Because that can totally change how I feel about things.

am I the only one who enjoys more the DiAnno era than the classic era, and the only one who prefers DiAnno's vocals?
The music back then was much more energetic and raw, I kind of liked that.
The vocal parts of Phantom of the Opera are insanely entertaining

Thought about the Trooper, but I gave the first vote to Wrathchild instead.

I can't say I prefer the DiAnno era, but I certainly consider it equal in many ways.

Um...by shorter songs, do we mean SHORTER songs? Because then that'd be "Ghengis Khan," the number that bloody well got me into the band. Otherwise, I'll have to be nice and unoriginal and say "Trooper" or "Aces" or something.

To clarify, I have 3 iron maiden polls. One for epics, one for 5 1/2 - 8 min tracks, and one for the ones shorter than that.

The Transylvania performance from the Live At The Rainbow gig they did in 1980 has to be the best for me, far better than the studio version and Adrian Smith plays a spectacularly good solo. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transylvania_%28Iron_Maiden_song%29 -

for me, it would be 'Revelations' off Piece of Mind...
