This is just a joke. I really don't think Billy Joel belongs here, I just wanted to see the reactions. Please share.

Great thread LOL

I actually love Billy Joel, but yeah, he doesn't need our services.

Jelly Bowel, on the other hand, might need help.  Dead  Wink

And yes I've been drinking.  Leave me alone.  Stern Smile

Yes. More Prog than Genesis. Jethro Tull made kiddy pop compared to him.

I don't care.

Who is this Jelly Bowel guy? Sound s like The Stranger to me.

Whoever posted WTFConfused or something like that probably voted the same way as me.

Well, it's a matter which should be taken seriously. His album "The Stranger" is some sort of concept album. "Goodnight Saigon" is actually a prog epic. He should be in PA!

Now what was your first reaction when you read this? Wink

Good composer, Billy Joel. Great talent. Not prog of course. My first reaction when I opened the thread: someone is cracking a joke.

You shouldn't have told us it was a joke for more authentic reactions

Personally, I think Billy was the best think to ever happen to prog. Genesis? Yes? King Crimson? VDGG? Gentle Giant? GET OUT!!! They couldn't write prog to save their lives.

Most of his CDs are in my collection, so therefore he must be prog or at the very least prog related. Smile

Is he prog?

Yeeaahh baby, if that don't scream prog, I don't know what does.

He's about as proggy as Elton John (maybe more?). I'm thinking of stuff like Scenes from an Italian Restaurant, Streetlife Serenader, and Scandinavian Skies. Maybe The Entertainer and Captain Jack?

He doesn't belong here, but I think a lot of his music is great, particularly The Stranger and Nylon Curtain albums.

I agree with that too, except that I still have to listen to Nylon Curtain, which is supposed to be good.

I was listening to the album An Innocent Man this morning, and the opening track is called Easy Money.  Sounds like a prog song to me. Wink

The entire Streetlife Serenade album is freaking fantastic and highly underrated IMO.

I agree. Great musician, and I own most of his music, but he certainly shouldn't be here.

I'm surprised 'he should definitely be here' is winning. I was expecting no votes for that...

I really want Billy Joel to be here. Not just have his own page on PA but actually be here in my room, or at least on the forums.

He wanted to come visit us the other night but we said no 'cos he wanted to bring his own piano and we've only got a very small house.

We;ve probably got room for Ian Anderson and his flute, but he's going to have to sit on the floor. None of that standing on one leg lark round here.

You know, standing on one leg really takes up less space than sitting. Especially when age has left its cruel deposits upon ones buttocks.  You could really just place Ian in the corner. Perhaps replace a lamp with him.

Yep. If I replaced the lamp with Ian I guess it really would be Jethro Dull. Wonder if I could ditch the sofa and install Meatloaf?
