I've been collecting and recycling bottles for like 9 months now, and i've gotten tired of it and kinda stopped since i recently got a job. And by doing that, i've earned about $250 (Bit unsure due to the economic crisis and stuff), and i've been saving every penny since i started. (The money i've spent on music has come from other stuff) So what should i do with all this money?

But i've been working my butt off to earn all this! You get 7 cents for a can, 8 cents for a glass bottle, and 14 or 28 cents for a bottle, depending on the size. And i've earned $250. That should give you an idea

That's 3571 cans, 3125 glass bottles, 1785 small bottles or 893 large bottles.

Buy the smallest Zimbabwean bills you can find with it. $1 trillion Zimbabwe is worth about $33 on the black market. With this you could fill a pool up with it and swim in money, thus propelling you to the level of unsurpassed ballerness that only rappers can achieve.

Personally I'd go and treat myself to something I have always wanted but couldn't justify it. Also what interests me is the environmental aspects of paying for recycling. I wish something similar would happen in the UK.
Here we go again, but when I was a lad jam jars where worth a penny and pop bottles had a returnable deposit on them. These days they just end up on the street along with all the other detritus from a grossly irresponsible society.
Well done anyway on your efforts. It is to be applauded.

Yeah... Thanks! Alot of times i've been thinking that it's not worth it. Sometimes it's not. When you for example dig deep in garbage cans only to earn a few cents. It IS worth it however, when you find out that you're mum has $30 worth of bottles&cans at work that are just waiting to be taken care of.

Come here to Argentina for a couple of days, grab all of what you can see, return to your homeland, and "vualla!", you're a rich man

With 250 American Dollars or Euros you can have plenty of fun in argentina. My advice is to save a little more and spend some holidays in our country.

However... You only get a deposit from swedish bottles&cans. If that was what you meant. And i wouldn't bother flying to Argentina anyway. That would be like 12+ hours on a plane

Cause i'd be stuck on a plane, that's why. A train would be better. Atleast then i can see where i am, and not just clouds. I think i'll invest them in CD's and vinyls. Filling gaps in my prog collection, and building a meaty Hard Rock collection!

There are other alternatives.
For example, a lot of my money has been spent on sick and lame horses over the years.
I must admit, though, that if I had known they were lame or sick I probably wouldn't have bet on them in the first place .

When i recycle Bottles&Cans, i usually get loads of coins. But when i've earned another 100kr (about $15), i exchange them for a 100kr bill.

Because i don't have alot of them now. If i never would've exchanged coins for 100kr bills, i might've been able to do it, though!

We don't take kindly to your sensible suggestions here. Or maybe that's what we're supposed to do. I dunno. If we are supposed to be sensible, then I'd say invest it in stocks. The sooner the better because the DOW isn't likely to go much under 8000. My suggestion is, if you aren't worried about losing some money, buy the stock DDR. It's cheap and quite risky but it's likely to make you some decent money in at least a few months.

Take the $250 to the bank and have it converted into 25,000 pennies. Then throw the pennies on your front lawn and roll around naked in them proclaiming maniacally, "Bwahaha! I'm rich! all of you thought I wouldn't make it. But who's laughing now? Bwahaha! I could buy and sell you all like cattle!"

Let's face it,buddy, out city(and all others as it seems) is in decadence.Despite the fact that you just might walk out of an elevator and get a bullet in the head,I'm afraid were paying the depths are beloved polticians leave when they put all our money in their pocket. There was this guy on the news just the other day,who actually lived in a CASTLE bought with stolen money....

Considering that we have an area 8,514,000 sqkm and a population of 190 million people there is too many space here for visitors to choose the best place to go.
About the man in the CASTLE... do you believe that these silliness only happens in Brasil and the rest of the world is a pink heaven? Then check here what people from other countries say about their politicians and their politics. We're not alone in this fate, unfortunately.

It's the Onion. It's the greatest source of comedy in the world today.
That was just a satire of the U.S. government's tendency to waste money.

You don't want to go investing it, it's just such a small amount still to be invested, that you probably wouldn't get anything back, what with the current economy crisis and all that jazz. But what's a really good investment at this age is vinyl recordings. You see CDs are getting out of date and people are buying mp3s through the net. But LPs have gone from cheap to woohoo expensive in such a short period of time. It's the antique value for collectors. Just with the right buyers, you could get it all back double after say, 20 years, when all the music ever made has lost its quality, and all that's left are these poisonous disks found in a cave somewhere, smelling like weed. Take my advice for it man, you won't regret!

If you're in the US, spend the money here buying whatever sh*t you want... The country desperately needs every penny!
If you're not in the US, go online (if you're reading this you already are) and buy something from any US-Internet Store... We desperately need the money.. and anyway, if the US makes it out of recession, is for the benefit of the whole world!
Now if you're a selfish b*****d, buy some very obscure albums (read: prog) and wait some 30 years till they're vintage stuff... then re-sell them to fools hanging around an internet forum based on prog-rock music at 10 times the price... and then you can actually travel! (maybe to the US... if we're not a province of China by then...)
