Have a look at this cool new feed: http://progfreak.com/srv/progradar.xml - http://progfreak.com/srv/progradar.xml It should be pretty self explanatory, but here we go: Whenever someone first tags an album as progressive at Progfreak.com, the album appears on that list. It's like a weblog which is compiled automatically from all the PF users, and you can use it as a notification service for new releases. Of course I would be glad if more people contributed - but there are already many high profile experts aboard, Windhawk and avestin, rushfan4 and many more ... and of course yours truly.  Please guys, give me some feedback on this, regardless of whether you're going to use it or not. | Update: Changed the layout a little bit. The text in the feed now contains Myspace links and album cover art / links to amazon, CDBaby and emusic.com. |

This is neat, Mike! I think having the band's website (well, if they have one) would also be a good addition next to the Amazon and other links. It's a great way to keep up with new releases.  -------------

Yet another update: The feed items now contain special links which render narrow versions of the album pages. You can set your feed reader to open the feed url instead of showing the descriptions. BTW: If you've never used feed readers except for Internet Explorer or Firefox, you can try this one: http://www.feedreader.com/ - http://www.feedreader.com/ The idea is that you use it to monitor several feeds. ^ I still have my hopes that more people will start to use PF regularly. It doesn't necessarily take much time at all ... whenever you're listening to a fascinating album, you *can* (you don't have to - I myself don't do that meticulously every time I listen to music) look it up at PF and submit some tags, or maybe add it to your playlist. It typically takes less than a minute, but it can accomplish a number of things. To name only one: If it's an album by a band that's not currently listed in the archives, the proper tags will automatically put the band onto the suggestions page of the appropriate genre team.

FYI: The feed url works properly in Opera now ... thanks to cobb2, who made me aware of the problem. Be advised though that while you can view the feed with Internet Explorer, Firefox or Opera, it's real power unfolds when you use it with a proper feed reader. The idea is that you use an application that runs on your computer and monitors several feeds. Then you can view the results of all the feeds together. If you like you can try http://www.google.com/reader - http://www.google.com/reader ... there you can view several feeds online. You can also use http://www.feedreader.com/ - http://www.feedreader.com/ ... that's an offline newsreader which you install on your computer. You'll receive new feed entries as you would receive emails in an application like Outlook or Thunderbird. BTW: If you're already using Thunderbird you can also use it for RSS feeds.
