Subject: The Order Of Posts
Date Posted: October 10 2008 at 10:13

Anyone who has been here any length of time at all will begin to understand the basic order of posting for long threads. However, to help some of the newer members of our fine forum who might worry over upsetting the delicate posting etiquette, here is a brief guide as to exactly when to add specific comments as the thread develops:

Post 1: (The genesis post - no pun intended)
Split into three groups - Newbies (who want to know something), older forum lags (who have the answers) and trolls (who live under bridges and eat billy goats). A good question or a statement is usually the springboard of a long thread

Post 2
The reaction post - filled with love, hate, fear or just poo (possibly all four).

Post 3
Usually someone pointing out that the subject for discussion has already happened in another thread.

Post 4
The support post - Here comes the cavalry to back up post 1.

Post 5
The counter post - And here come more injuns...

Post 6
The digression - Genesis are great and btw, I'm a teapot and the Kaiser wants to steal my string.

Post 7
The spelling/grammar Nazis - Usually disturbed from a long winter hibernation and have been woken up (with a sore head). Never mind your point you ignorant scum, watch your damn tautologies or I will rise up out of my hole and rape your budgie.

Post 8
The level headed liberal post - Look, there ARE no genres. Just good and bad music.

Post 9
The Dalek - I HAVE NO HUMOUR, ONLY FACTS AND FIGURES. YOUR MIRTH AND JOY IRRITATES ME - EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!!!!

Post 10
The Artist post - Actually, I'm Steve Wilson and that's that.

Post 11
The Fanboy post - Omg, I just love you Mr Wilson and everything you do.

Post 12

The Anti fanboy - I love Magma so, die Wilson die!!!

Post 13
There is NO post 13.

Post 14
The thank you post - Hardly ever seen but worth mentioning for novelty value

So there you have it - absolutely every kind of post that's EVER been made, neatly catalogued in one handy at-a-glance post. You need never fear posting the wrong thing again.

And before you say it - No problems, you are most welcome. Smile

Poppycock! Even as an example of a 'parochial' post, this is blasphemy..!

Venusian avant prog metal always had the edge, especially with the likes of Felixstowe Tamarind and Otto Magna-Carter at the forefront of the sub-genre. FFS! Otto used to play his laser mandolin whilst sitting in a bath of rice pudding...by remote control...from another planet! Beat that.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Angry

If you think that Martian prog is crap, I have three words of you; The Mystic Tentacles.

Since their third album - Wizard's Fist (a Rock Odyssey) which included the only use in prog rock of a startled donkey for the lead vocals, they have lead the way in human/animal progressive collaboration. The track 'Venusian Prog Is A Big Pile Of Poo' I think says all there is to say about the state of the scene on that particular planet thank you very much.

The ultimate masters of the paper nappy and distorted kazoo.

Oh, is that right, Mr Martian prog fanboy!?

I grant you, the Mystic Tentacles were the first to incorporate animal/human progressive collaboration in their music, but I ask you..where is that ing donkey now, hey? He cant even get session work. Lunar based prog metal heads Dream Crater even declined his services for their last album 'Scenes from the back end of my ass'

In any case I prefer the tribute act 'OldRicks Testicles' and they're neither from Mars or Venus, their from Titan, and are trail blazers in their own right. Thats how prog I am sir..
