It's called http://www.yourscenesucks.com/ - Your Scene Sucks . I should probably count myself lucky that I have only met half of the subcultures it makes fun of... I think it's pretty funny myself.

I've seen them all but belong to none. We proggers tend to be generic I suppose

I love this line:

with the death metal crowd..."

Poor you. If I ever encountered the "popcore dork" dude I'd probably run away in absolute existential terror.

Oh yes, I've been called a "pseudo-neo-hippy" - a response to which I stared at the person like a deer in headlights and tried my best not to smack them.

I, funnily enough, look pretty much like a stereotypical grunge fan. This is funny because I find grunge the most consistently disappointing of all rock subgenres.

Looking at the cover art of Fly By Night, I wonder if Rush should take credit for the O RLY? fad.

Makes the O RLY? owl look more angry than incredulous.
Now here is something to ponder over:
What those stereotypical "grey"-type aliens, like the Asgard in Stargate SG-1 for example, are to humans is basically what Owls are to other birds.

Yeah.
For the records, Greys are also to humans what humans are to monkeys (less hair and muscles, more brain and eyes)... and "someone who is to man as man is to ape" is IIRC how Nietzsche describes his "übermensch".
Explains a lot 'bout the Neetch: His target audience was NOT OF THIS EARTH!

I don't think there's a scene that would accept me as a member.

But shouldn't I have a distinctive appearance so that it would be easy for my followers to imitate me?

Actually, if there is anything I know about punk is that if a subgenre of punk rock can be conceived of it probably exists. So somewhere out there, probably in Uzbekistan, there is a blossoming Wombatcore Punk scene.

Better get to Uzbekistan wearing all your scene gear while the scene is still ripening there vomp.
Yes - make sure your look is totally original, despite how stupid that may make you look. Seems to be the way kids are doing it these days

I think I've heard of Wombatcore. If my memory serves me right it's exactly like Hardcore, except they use a kazoo instead of vocals.
|
Posted By: Toaster Mantis
Date Posted: September 08 2008 at 13:46
Kazoos you say?

^Is that also the standard outfit for wombatcore kids?

^^^Dress like the guy with the top hat - but make sure your kazoo is always visible - a kazoo pentand may do they trick. Then just add some orange eyeshadow and you're set!

I don't have any orange eyeshadow. Would it even go well with my stache?

dye the stache purple, duh
|
Posted By: Vompatti

Of course! I wonder if I can dye the stache with oil paint?

You guys need to see Invention Pioneers of Note on the same site, that one makes a little more sense and has more of an actual point. Not to say that it doesn't end in a hair-raisingly inane way, but I think that it's part of its entire concept. I'd say it's objectively the better of the flash toons on CrazyAwesome.

I know this is thread necromancy.... but http://www.dobi.nu/yourscenesucks/portraits.htm - YourSceneSucks is now offering to make drawings of readers for inclusion! This could be how we'll get that Rob Dobi dude to recognize us progheads. However, do we really want that?
I'm in any case looking forwards to this.
