Another three of my all time favourites and all back in the current live set - catch Stackridge at The Boardwalk, Sheffield tonight, Fibbers, York tomorrow and The Brook, Southampton on 17th September ( see you there??) ------------- AlanD |

I have many fond memories of watching Stackridge in the early 70s. The Man in the Bowler Hat album is sheer joy from start to finish.
Syracuse the Elephant (from Friendliness) and No-One's More Important than the Earthworm (from Extravaganza) are also worth a mention from a prog rock angle.

I think if I had a choice, Road to Venezuela would be my all time top Stackridge tune. The rolling percussion, the soaring fiddle and the vista offered by the lyric just about sum up how Stackridge are always more than the sum of their parts. Someone was talking about a Stackridge newsgroup or message board the other day - any ideas where I should look? John B ------------- a clear cut case of tennis elbow |
