I need help. I have been coming to the archives for sometime now and to this day I have been stuck with the same stupid avatar since day one. ( some asian inscription, who knows what it means ). The question is, how do I get myself an album cover avatar or even one of the custom cool avatars that some of you cats got? I've check the edit section of my profile, I know I'm suppose to download something from somewhere but I don't know how. Anyone got a minute to explain to this simpleton how I do this?

No downloading needed, мой друг.

As for getting yourself a lovely new avatar, it's not difficult at all. If you happen across a nice little picture on your internet travels, right-click and save it to somewhere on your computer. Then scurry on over to an image hosting site such as http://www.imageshack.us/ - ImageShack and upload the picture you found. Take the URL they give you at the bottom and stick it in the box on your profile-editing page.

That's about it, really. I'm a bit of an avatar-hound, so if you have any other questions I'm more than happy to help.

An easier way would be to right click the image you desire for you avatar, and choose "Copy image location" and then paste that into the URL slot for your avvy.

If I might make a suggestion, how about Bug-eyed Earl?
