Well.. tell me where to take the test for free and I'll tell you.. I'm not going to pay for a useless test.. which is a sign that my IQ is higher than average...LOL

I had an IQ test done on me when I was like 11 years old I think... I scored pretty high, third in my whole promotion (out of 100 people) and first in my class....The only thing that sh*t accomplished is to boost my weak self-steem in a wrong manner, so that I, still a stupid little child, thought that my supposed intelligence would do everything, and that sweat and hard work were not necessary... After some years of mediocrity, I realized how stupid it was to divulge those results in people who were not ready to take them....

Studies show that excessive exposure to Dream Theater kills significant brain cells*, so if your score comes in lower, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Wink

*Of course, I made that up, but based on some of things that people here on PA say about DT you would think this was true.

149, and I took the test with my leftmost hand while eating potato chips (not at a very quick pace, I admit) with my rightmost hand. Approve

I used to have a genius IQ -- I have no idea what it is now, but I expect that my IQ has dropped very considerably over the years (exacerbated by an anxiety, fatigue, and thyroid disorder -- I find it very hard to concentrate on even the simplest tasks sometimes, and my memory is deteriorating).  One's EQ is very important, and in that regard I don't fare well at all.  I grow dimmer by the year -- times of clarity have become infrequent.

Select "49 and below" if you have confidence in web-based IQ tests.

Interesting to see that nobody is below average, though I am sure the online tests are inaccurate. I was tested by a psychologist in a 3-hour test. 150 on the dot for me!

I scored low on the web test gave above.

I never tested my IQ in a real psychological test yet.

DT's compilation album Greatest Hit..(and 21 Other Pretty Cool Songs) probably accounts for 22 points right there; so before DT you could easily have had a score of 150. LOL

Since studyin' psychology, I've taken all manner of IQ tests and scored anwhere between 90 & 140 without any confines out of the ordinary; reaffirming my belief regarding free tests on the internet...good for a chuckle (and possibly bragging rights haha) but not much use beyond that.Smile

Listen fellas,  I scored 153, so I'm saying right here, right now that the test was accurate!Approve

ha ha ha! I don't really care, but it was fun! and you're right jimmy_row, good for bragging rights!

or maybe it's because I don't listen to DT anymore..........................LOL

I just got a 160 on that test. Sure was a good boost.

When I was like 4 I took an IQ test and I got a 145 I believe. Guess I've gotten smarter Approve

I was going to post something like that, but I thought my Magma comment was more fitting for me personally to make. Tongue

And if you did get a 145, it looks like you were at least born somewhat brilliant. LOL

On a serious note, I agree. The fact that people think they can determine "intelligence" with a test baffles me. But like previously stated, it's good for a laugh and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Well I am completely useless at those mathematical tests but I'm not bad at the Literacy and Pattern Matching ones.

However because the majority of IQ/Mensa tests I have looked at, consist of a lot of mathematics, I end up getting low scores.

So I agree with Chris Syzygy on this.

The trick is to guess the maths ones if you can't work them out.  You have a 50/50 chance of being right, even if you are rubbish at maths.  (Er, like me...) Big%20smile

That's what I do... I guess I choose the wrong answer every time. LOL

It's all those:

If Dave has 20p in one pocket, consisting of 5 pennies, how fast is he travelling down the M4 and at what speed must he be going for all his first 5 pence to fall out of his pocket?

LOL

That's the questions I hate.

You mean the personality type one?

Your Type is
INTJ
IntrovertedIntuitiveThinkingJudging
Strength of the preferences %
89257589

You are:
  • very expressed introvert
  • moderately expressed intuitive personality
  • distinctively expressed thinking personality
  • very expressed judging personality

That's what I got the first time. The second time I was a bit higher on "Thinking"... it fits me way too well. I'm definitely an analyst. Tongue

Hence I do better at mathematics, I've always been that way.

I find that particular personality test is much more accurate than most other tests I've ever taken. It fit me to a T and also everyone else to whom I showed it. I also like how it shows the percentages of how much someone goes to a certain leaning, as I'm the type of person who just loves looking at numbers and statistics. Tongue

Well, could you imagine someone with subnormal intelligence enjoying prog and going onto a website to talk about it?
LOL

But yeah, it definitely helps feel more at ease with people here more than anywhere else. It's funny really, but it makes perfect sense.

Congratulations!
Your general IQ score is 156.

A person whose IQ score falls in the range of 144-160 is considered to be "gifted".

If I took a real IQ test, I'd be surprised if I were to score above a 140, as that is rare enough.  The IQ test measures a pretty narrow area of intellect - of which I don't even consider my strongest area - so I'm pretty skeptical to this score although I'd be equally skeptical to all internet IQ tests (especially if I did poorly :P).

The one about going for walks was the worst... I don't go for walks but I think I'd probably enjoy them if I did, so it's a tough one to answer. LOL

Ha, I didn't really think any of them were that hard to answer... but I am a very "black and white" person, so that may explain it. Tongue

No problem, Melissa.  I'm always happy to be of assistance.

I gather you've been unwell?  I hope it's nothing too serious. Ouch

Haha, I've had a bad month for health!  Including, but not limited to: slipping over at work and bashing my head on a stone floor; nasty cold; horrid migraine; nearly getting run over and hurting my neck/shoulder; aaaand... raging indigestion after eating too much dinner too quickly! Oh and yes, we are the best.  Although I do wish there was a middle option on the Myers-Briggs Test because I over analyse everything. LOL

Well... I like to check my CDs are on their way but I don't check all things, so "sometimes" would be a better option for me. LOL

All I can say is, sorry sorry sorry original poster.  Yes, this should all be in the other thread... Embarrassed  Er, over analysing, you say...?!   (There are other versions of the test with graded answers, i.e. 'strongly agree' etc. etc.)

That's due to our weirdness:

"INFPs never seem to lose their sense of wonder. One might say they see life through rose-colored glasses. It's as though they live at the edge of a looking-glass world where mundane objects come to life, where flora and fauna take on near-human qualities."

Although...

Yeah, and our particular type (Masterminds), rather than just Rationals, has an even better list!!

http://www.personalityzone.com/view/blog/temperament-and-turbulence.html - Alan Greenspan , http://www.personalityzone.com/view/blog/temperament-and-turbulence.html - Ben Bernanke , Dwight D. Eisenhower, http://keirsey.com/handler.aspx?s=keirsey&f=fourtemps&tab=5&c=grant - General Ulysses S. Grant , Frideriche Nietsche, Niels Bohr, Peter the Great, Stephen Hawking, John Maynard Keynes, Lise Meitner", Ayn Rand and Sir Isaac Newton are examples of Rational Masterminds.

Oh, yeah, TAKE THAT!!!

Meh.

Famous INFPs:

Homer (hahaha how they can tell this, I have no idea)
Virgil (not the puppet)
Mary, mother of Jesus (oh no...)
St. John, the beloved disciple (oh no no no)
St. Luke; physician, disciple, author (no no and more no)
William Shakespeare, bard of Avon (aha, now we're talking!)
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (Evangeline) (no idea who he is)

Well, actually, neither.  Before I ever heard of Magma I was making up words of my own... Embarrassed LOL

Excellent.  I don't know any words of Yoshi's language... in fact, I really only know English and I wish I didn't.  I'd like to speak drow elf or something. LOL
