As far as I could find, there wasn't a thread dedicated to everyone showing their musical equipment. And by that I mean, instruments to amplifiers, to effects to controllers and so on.
Here's my guitar stuff

Cool:). I've never seen that amp before, is that a Roland JC 120 4x10 combo or a Roland keyboard amp or something along those lines? I've only ever seen the usual JC-120 amp.
I'll post some pics of my gear when I get a camera.

It's a Roland JC-160, the same as the 120 but yes, 4x10" instead of 2x12". They only made them for one year in 1976 and I was lucky enough to grab ahold of one off eBay for cheap. Very awesome amp, it goes so loud and seems to have a better low-end than the 120. I haven't even turned it past 3 and it's been unbearably loud!

Oh, that's cool. I thought the JC-160 had a longer production run than that, didn't realise they were so rare, very awesome purchase you made indeed I've heard how loud the JC-120 is. I can only imagine the JC-160 is an absolute beast! Heavy as hell to carry around I bet?

It goes so damn loud! Though, I bet I'll never turn it past 5 to find out, it might make my body implode or something! It is pretty damn heavy, but luckily it has wheels attached to the bottom which help out with moving it around - very convenient.

Wow, that's so awesome, I bet it sounds great! You should go play it right now! What are you doing talking about music to strangers instead of playing your Hammond organ? You have a Hammond organ with a Leslie for God's sake!

Well that's me told
I had lessons for about 2 years (from scratch, at the age of 40, never having touched a musical instrument before), but other stuff kept getting in the way... it's always kept oiled & regularly serviced though, so and and when (if?) I get back to music, the Hammond'll be waiting.
Actually, it doesn't sound great... it sounds magnificent!
Cranked up 1971 Hammond L122 + early 1970's Leslie 145 = potentially cracked walls, broken windows & seriously ped off neighbours.

Are you sure you want to see them all?
Fender Rhodes Stage 73, w/ one broken tine and detached legs
ARP Solus, minor oscillator problems
Alesis QS6, mint
Yamaha Motif, my main keyboard
Gibson Les Paul Studio (Ferrari Red, '80s vintage), my main guitar
Carter Starter Pedal Steel, mint (serious love/hate relationship)
sh*tty Peavey amp
sh*tty Fender Champ amp
Maybe a couple things I'm forgetting. Think there's a Small Stone phase shifter around. Maybe a Cry Baby or that may have fallen apart.. A lot of these are in storage down in the basement and would take serious effort to photo. But if y'all want to see them, the digital camera is at the ready.

You can use computers to make music. So posting laptops is okay.
I have:
Fender Classic Series Jazz Bass. A beautiful instrument in every aspect. I bought it used in mint condition, so I'm unsure of when it's made, but maybe 02? 60's styled, pink metallic w/ matching headstock. Mexico-built, but a really, really nice instrument. So much better than the Standard series also built in Mexico. Just as good as the much more expensive American Vintage series.
Ibanez Roadstar II, -86. Black P-bass-ish thing. Mic is not the best, I've considered replacing it, but it plays beautifully and stays in tune surprisingly well. Made in Japan, before Ibanez moved the production of their cheaper models to Korea.
an Amada classical guitar. Not a particularly fancy guitar, but it sounds good and looks neat.
I also have an Epiphone SG which isn't well, partially due to a previous owner having played around with the wiring. Let's just say there are better guitars out there.
Photos will arrive later.

Dean Vendetta 4.0 w/ Floyd Rose Tremelo.
Dean Vendetta 3.0. [Not a very flattering picture, I wish I had a better one. The neck inlay looks great but this picture doesn't do it justice].
Marshall 100DFX Half Stack. Generally well accepted, although I've seen some bad reviews. I don't see why, it sounds amazing especially for its price. To its right you can see my old 30 Watt Marshall 30DFX, its now retired xD.
Last but certainly not least, my electric violin. Just bought this this year, set me back about $500, but it was totally worth it. Sounds, feels, and looks great.
I also have a Boss Chorus pedal, a Vox Wah pedal, a Vox Volume Pedal [which im not all that impressed with], and a Marshall Channel Switcher / DFX switcher.
Sorry for if the pictures are too big, It's late and I really don't have the patience to resize them.

Mr70s- Copy the address Dean posted, then update your original image post and paste the URL (you copied) over the original URL you put in. The image properties of your post still show the bad link address. This should fix it, because Dean's address works fine.

Well in addition to my Hammond L122/Leslie 145, I have just taken delivery of:
A Mellotron
...and a Fender Rhodes piano, Hammond B3, Oberheim, Fairlight, Moog, Minimoog, Yamaha DX7, Vox Continental, Prophet 5, Farfisa & oodles more
Wanna see???
Supposed to be the synth to use if you want those classic sounds (hooking everything up tomorrow to find out); wanted one for ages, but didn't want to pay £250+ (average price on EBay), but managed to pick up this one (with the 'Plus' modification of an extra 256 patches) for £80.00
Average rating on various websites I've seen 9/10 - take this example:
Harmony Central wrote:
Expressiveness/Sounds: 10
The mellotron sounds are realistic. Not only violins, but also flutes and especially choirs. They really sound like "Selling England By The Pound" by Genesis. The E-Pianos (Wurlitzer, several Rhodes, DX) are very good. The Vox organ sounds just like "Light My Fire". Presets are generally good (Soft Synth IS the introduction to "Shine On Crazy Diamond"). The B3 Organs are good, ít´s better to have these lesliesamples than having absolutely no leslie. It´s made to get these beautiful sounds out that you need for progressive and psychedelic Rock from the late 60s and early 70s. If you want to play Genesis, Pink Floyd, Doors, Yes and so on, you´ll have the right synth with that. |
We'll see - if nothing else, it'll be a great toy.
Incidentally, I'll be playing it through my Yamaha DJX1 (don't laugh, it's a great little keyboard) & Pioneer DJM500 Mixer

The furthest left is an E2 Akai Headrush delay/tape delay/looping pedal, it's actually the same as the one right next to it, but the more recent and better moedl. Really nice pedals, actually. Very good for the spacey looping stuff I do, and it's fantsatic for jamming.
And on top, yes, 2 EQs, the left one is a vintage Ibanez Parametric EQ and then a Boss Grapic EQ on the right.
My set-up is actually different from this now: I got a Lehle P-Split so that I can run each looping pedal independantly into each different channel of my JC-160 and I bought a Behringer Ultra Metal pedal yesterday for an experimental metal music project that I'll be starting up with some friends soon. It will have 3 guitarists and 2 bassists and will be all polyrhythmic and symphonic, yet repatative and symplistic.

My bass, a Fender Squire Vintage Jazz Bass. I use an Ampeg BA115 amplifier.
It's actually quite good for a Squire and an excellent intermediate instrument. I'd keep it even if I got a higher quality instrument.
I've also got an old Casio keyboard as well. I'll try to post a picture later.

|
That metal project sounds intruiging. If you decide to post some music, you should let me know where I check it out.

Awesome, will do. We've started to some work on it, though a fair bit of stuff still needs to be put together. We've written half a track with the three guitarists, but one of the bassists just went to America and won't be back for a month, and the other one has been hard to organize a jam with. And lastly, a drummer who is good enough for what we want is still being looked out for. But it is coming together and we will likely have something to show by March (fingers crossed)!

And also, actually, latest gearz:
Photo of me playing my Hagstom Swede at our last gig (my melodic art rock sort of band named Vangarde). My Roland JC160 and pedal board can be seen.
Effects, amps and guitar sprawled over my floor. The amp under the desk is my latest beauty! It's an American made 50s Cordovox tube amp, meant to be for an electric piano accordian, but it sounds really nice with guitar, especially with my Lehle P-Split, splitting my guitar signal into both amps simultaneously to make some sweet sounds. Sounds really nice having my tape echo (from the Headrush) going through the Cordovox by itself, it sounds very warm and analoguey. Also, the Cordovox has 66 tubes inside(!), see picture below for reference.

Finally, here's a family pick with my basses:
http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=aV2szhL9">
A little blurry, but I finally managed to get the lighting good.
From left to right:
Ibanez Roadstar II RB630. Nothing fancy, a well-built late 80s P-bass copy that I got mostly because it's so light very nice to play. Traded it for an Ibanez ATK 600 I had, which was a much better sounding bass (fantastic triple coil pick-up with active electronics and tons of sustain), but I didn't like the neck and it was very heavy. I've thought about changing the pick-up and pots in this one, but I haven't got around to it yet.
Peavey Millennium 4. Older US-built model, not the current cheap BXP series. I won't say much about this one other than that it's a ridiculously good bass for its price (they aren't made anymore, but you should be able to pick one up used at around $200-$500)
Fender Classic series Jazz Bass. Yes, it's Mexico-built, but the quality is a lot better than the Standard series. Beautiful instrument, great value for money. Everyone knows what the J-bass is so I'm not going to say much more.

This man owns a Bogner Ecstasy. This means this man has practically owned every one else in this thread. Those amps are soooooooooooooooo insanely good. Easily the best piece of guitar amplification anyone on Progarchives owns to date, surely.

Well, perhaps, but the general consensus on these amps is that they cover a lot of ground, which is of course sometimes expected when you pay this much for 3 channel boutique tube amp. They do everything from pretty damn clean tones, vintage-y over drives, to full on saturated gain. Obviously the main target is towards high gain lead guitarists but they could be used for anything from jazz to balls to the wall metal I suspect (although the amp voicing is more suited towards lead guitarists rather than technical death riffery) Hell, I'd buy a Bogner if they weren't insanely expensive in Australia

Ohh, I forgot to ask about the Parametric EQ. I didn't even know Ibanez made those pedals, wow. Looks really cool. Do you know what year it was made?
You buy Behringer pedals too? I own a Behringer NR-100 Noise Reducer, works just as good as the Boss equivalent except I only paid 1/4 of the price of the Boss pedal

I never knew they did either, but I was lucky to stumble across it in a pile of electronics in a friend's bedroom who was pulling a part old electronics to make into artworks. Lucky I came across it before he pulled it apart! I've done some reasearch on it, but not much comes up. I think it was made in the early 80's. Sounds nice though!
And yeah, those Behringer pedals are great! I only have the one, but it sounds really good. The plastic casing seems a bit dodgey, but easily overlooked for the price and sound.

Theremin!! I wondered what it was that Joe Bonamassa was playing his guitar over when I saw him on tour last year!
He uses it on his new album "The Ballad Of John Henry" and also during a section of Dazed And Confused he plays on stage.

Sorry, I missed the Daddy O question. It works well with the Cool Cat chorus and I've added a smaller Danelectro unit called "Surf n Turf" for more sustain. I'm looking into an echo unit because I like the sound that Gary Moore had on the title track from Grinding Stone and Peter Green used on End Of The Game. We'll see how it works out.

One last thought before I go off line and put on a movie. There's a lot of nice gear here and everyone has a lot of great floor toys which means a lot of cables. A few years ago a guitar tech friend of mine recommended Planet Waves cables and I've used them every since. I especially like the shorties with ninety degree jacks for the Pedaltrain.
Do most of you use a specific brand of cables or a variety that you've accumulated over the years?

I bought some high hand George's L custom jack but you had to build the jack and I was not good at that, even if it's easy, there was always some problems so I switched to good jack but not high end.

That'a a nice board. I see you have a Small Stone. In the mid-seventies my gear consisted of a Cry Baby wah wah, a Mosrite Fuzz Tone and a Small Stone Phase Shifter. The '74 Strat was the only guitar I owned and I played it through a 45 watt amp called a Moon 45 made by Seamoon Ltd. in northern California. I'm pretty sure that nobody has heard of this amp or the company.
