'Love beech' is a photo sleeve as in early days, possibly a begining to an end type of thing.Yeh!

I can think of far worse album covers though

pink floyd - the final cut... after all that stunning work with storm they come out with that...
yes - going for the one... leave your naked men at home, not in front of my skyscraper
metallica - load/reload done by an artist who "paints" with his own blood, urine and cum. Though maybe those albums deserved to be covered in blood, urine and cum.
dream theater - falling into infinity, i really miss the normal DT title font and maybe a picture of someone falling into infinity would have been better!
gentle giant - three friends. it's the same as their debut album, it could confuse people

i am in gloucestershire! tho i was born in London. True story but after i was born my parents were taking me home from the hospital and they had a car crash and i smacked my head on the dashboard... that explains a lot about me!

love beach isn't bad... but it still puzzles me why on the COVER of love beach there is no SAND! i know there is on other pics tho. Its not terrible, its just so embaressing. it sums up a band being controlled by a record company, the end of ELP, a poor album, the descent of prog giants, a prelude to the 80s and a sell out pop image ALL IN ONE. maybe in that way it is clever that it represents so much... just f**king embaressing to look out and say, this is an ELP album, this is a prog album. Embaressing for the band too (tho i bet threefates has been drooling since 1978 or whenever it was released)!

Love Beach is terrible, but more than bad it's the cheesiest cover that I ever imagined for a progressive band, but here are some of myt favorite bad covers:

In this one the idea was not so bad, but the picture is simply terrible:

  1. The proportion is incredibly bad, the blade of the sword has to be 4 or 5 times the length of the cross (Tha hand), but in thois photo it is at the most as long as the cross.
  2. If you have the vynil you can see that in the picture the anvil has a slot twice as wide as the sword
  3. In the upper right corner there is a wax seal that the British Kings didn't used before Edward the Confesor  (1043-1066),  and King Arthur was supposed to live in the V or VI Century.

Careless work.

Just horrible.

???

Cheesy.

Iván

You might like Tom Phillips for artwork... but that KC album cover was horrible.  It has a name like "Starless and Bible Black"... and it looks like a logo that would of been stamped on the side of a cardboard box...  That title is great.. and so much more could of been done with it!

Does anybody know the album cover to Energetic Disassembly by Watchtower? I can't show the picture from the archives here but it's on there. For some reason, I really love that simple cheap futuristic look - same for the Magma logo - it's just so cool!
