I think that Beatrix would owe him, after all she dispatched the 88's with little trouble.

Gandalf, obviously... mainly becuase I'm not entirely sure he could even die.  I mean, the dude fought a Balrog in hand to hand combat, then sort of died, but came back even more powerful.

Even Chuck Norris can't do that.

Jack Sparrow it is. And not only because he's Johnny Depp, but because he's a pirate and a captain.

Also, what the hell is wrong with people if they need to be told who Zinedine Zidane is, but they know everything about Marvel Comics. Also, where is Conan the Barbarian?

LOLLOL

That makes me wish I hadn't stopped playing after the Ravnica block.

*AHEM!* I mean - what is that - some kind of Pokemans? Wink

My vote goes to ******* (BLEEP) Kiddo from Kill Bill. Come on! She'll cut off your limbs and then make you keep them! Not to mention she can bite down really hard Stern%20Smile. Who else can dig out of their own grave!?

Yoda because he has a mean leg kick. Special mention for me is for Majin Buu.

Yoda, Gandolf and Batman are the only ones that stand much of a chance, maybe Harry Potter too, but he's a fairly pointless option when there's Gandolf. The new trilogy ruined Yoda for me, and I don't much care for LotR, so I'll go with Batman. And then Lady Shiva or Plastic Man would beat Batman.

Not for a while, the idea of using Planewalkers in the new block is scary to me. Actually I haven't looked at my cards since I moved out. But they're here. Mostly I just need to find someone to play with again. The girlfriend does now and then but it's usually too competitive for her. I play as quick as those pro chess players LOL. But yeah, I've been around since Ice Age (not the ice age, I mean the block that had Ice Age in it Wink) so if any PAers in Canada want a match I'm up for it Evil%20Smile.

I play type 1.5 and expanded although I'd be up to Standard if I spent some money on it.

The truth is out - I'm a terrible nerd Geek

LOL

Don't make me whip my DnD manuals out at you! (although they're obsolete thanks to stupid 4.0 Cry)

I didn't mind the change in looks, although some of the variant rules started to get pretty broken. Affinity, anyone?

It appears Yoda has unloaded his can of whoopass so far. Will anyone mount a comeback?

I rejected Magic after Mirrodin, because if I wanted less strategy and more pointless, overpowered cards, or lame ninja cards, I'd just play Yu-Gi-Oh.

And then I started playing again at Ravinica. And then got bored and stopped playing again after Morningtide.

obsoletion's a relative term
the rare times I play d&d I use 2nd edition AD&D or whatever =)

I never followed magic formats anyway - I once went to a tournament and six people in a row tried to rip me off through trades so I just left. it's a bad impression to make on someone trying to get in so I just gave up

down iwth capitalismlolo

LOL We're not all bad, just some of us.

Well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see if 3.5 stays in use for a while. I have 12 or 15 books (and they're pricey!) that I'm not willing to give up on, new version or not. I'm skeptical too, I mean, in 4.0 you get a save against Magic Missile! Something is wrong with that.

...

I need to dm again now LOL

Gotta go with my man Gandalf. Whilst Chuck may kick some mighty fine commie ass, he cant touch the epic level wizard.

I mean come on, no amount of ruggedness or denim can save you from a Meteor Swarm swarm to the face, no save Chuck, no chance.

But if I was to go really cheesy, such cheese that there should be a poll to see whos the cheesiest, I would have to choose Thanos(Marvel) when he has all the Infinity Gems.

I mean come on "The artifact makes Thanos a part of everything, and able to absorb the entire universe".

Ultimate cage match for nerds? I was expecting like, Gary Gygax and Richard Garfield, and Nobuo Uematsu, and that Linux Penguin fighting.  But the nerd type discussions on the thread make up for thatLOL.
See I have some D&D friends (one who was toting around the 4th edition book the last few days of school), and have been looking into magic a bit myself (played it a while back and drifted away), but don't know whether supporting a music habit and cardboard habit at the same time would be the wisest thing to do.  Meh.

Ah well , digressing,  I'll have to vote other for

BRUCE CAMPBELL!

-But he's not on that list

- He doesn't have to be

-what?

-go forth and watch Army of Darkness. If this doesn't convince you, then nothing will.

Here's how things are shaping up so far in the cage....

Yoda has made the little lightning bolt scar on Harry Potters head look like a road map of New Jersey now. Harry is down and bleeding, waving his wand around and mumbling some incantation. It sounds like he's saying "Homo Erectus". I'm not sure if that means he's trying to turn Yoda into a human or if he's having a flashback of Dumbledore's private council chamber.

Chuck Norris is showing Bruce Leeroy what martial arts are all about with a roundhouse kick to the face. I bet Bruce Leeroy was back in Harlem fighting Sho Nuff at this point.

Mike Tyson has done it again, biting off a chunk of Hulk Hogan's ear. The Hulkster can't rev up the crowd now with his trademark hand to the ear gesture with no ear to cup anymore.

Zinedine Zidane hit Sasquatch with a devastating head butt to the chest but that only made Sasquatch mad. Sas picked Zidane up and launched him out of the ring with a Big Foot to the glutious maximus.

Speaking of Maximus, Capt Jack Sparrow and Beatrix Kiddo have teamed up on the roman general and are showing him a bit more flamboyant style of sword play. Yes Maximus, we are entertained but at your expense this time.

Ray Nitschke's helmet is perched atop the far side of the cage....ewww I do believe his head is still inside. We are unable to locate the rest of the Hall Of Fame linebacker's body at the moment. This is clearly the handywork of Roger Daltrey and his buzzsaw microphone of doom.

Batman and Gandalf are pretty much at a stalemate as they battle each other. Gandalf shouting "You shall not pass" and slamming his staff on the mat making Batman's footing shakey. Batman countering with his bat shaped chinese stars but the wizard is still pretty nimble for 700 years old.

That's how it stands at this point. Yoda and Chuck Norris look like the top contenders but anything can happen in an all out cage match brawl.
