Jannick Top used Gallien Krueger amps for distortion, and a bass tuned C-G-D-A for extra lowness. Gallien Krueger now makes a bass distortion pedal, which I use and recommend, and if you mess with it you can get very Magma-like distortion.

I used to play my bass through a Boss Heavy Metal pedal. I hadn't heard any Zeuhl at the time but looking back the sound was pretty close. ------------- "The disgusting stink of a too-loud electric guitar.... Now, that's my idea of a good time." |
