Thanks,  don't think most Belgians heard of this gig.   I just spread the word.

Wow, the show was just.... Wow! I will be probably back with details, but for now that's all I can say Big%20smile

The band was in high spirits, the set list was an excellent selection and the crowd was fantastic (even though a bit overzealous at times LOL)

Well that wasAnekdoten's better Belgian concert I've seen since 99 in Huy, but in Brussels in 95 was still better.

The 3 Verviers gigs were average I thought.

Too bad the frigging directions given to get there were completely wrong and the place so difficult to find.

Good sound though, but bad ventilation, the place looked like a backyard shed and was just about as difficult to find as a needle in haystack.

yeah it was totaly awesome (in Uden on the first day of the tour)!

The gig more than made up for the the lengthy drive (or rather crawl/standstill)!  Cheesy

The band had a great opening of the tour I think. There was decent attendance (much beter than when PT played the same venue many moons ago on their 5th ever gig and first non-UK gig) and the band came across enthusiastic and well-rehearsed and still as enthusiastic as 15 years ago when they started out.

This being my first ever Anekdoten gig I cannot compare it to others bit thought it was awesome - the setlist was a nice selection of old (e.g. Nucleus, From Within, Kiss of Life, Rubankh) and new tracks from the last two albums.

The highlights of the regular set (for me) were A Sky About to Rain, and the glorious Ricochet (and I only now noticed both tracks have a similar chord progression played on the Mellotron) as wel as the track Gravity.

The Encore were Monolith - with an amazing 10 min. coda section and the old barnstormer Karelia.

All of the band played very well - wish I could catch another date on this tour. Also refreshing (after many PT gigs last year) to see a band play freely without need for a click-track to make sure they stay in sync with vids!

many thanks to the band (Tash included) for a great night. Took home a signed version of the awesome ltd ed Box Set that was comissioned for the Japan tour earlier this year too. Of course I had all the jewel case verions of the albums already so didn't really need it but could not resist!

GO SEE THIS BAND IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE

Lovely to have met you, Eric!  We're having a great time so far, and tonight's show in Bordeaux will be nothing short of awesome.  I say that because I'm cheeky and I know everything.  LOL

Right now, we're all taking showers and getting ready to go unload the van at the venue, then try and sack the town real quick before lunch (read: raid a record store or two).

The set lists so far have been different for each show, and last night the organisers requested 'maximum mellotron' and 'maximum cello'.  So I think it's opus night. Smile

I'll check in again in a day or two...until then, get your butts to the remaining shows!

Could you give us the set list for the Leuven show???

I missed the first three songs (bad directions) and did not recognize the second encore (the one sounding like In The Court  in its intro)

I personally find it too bad Ann-Sofi plays less cello (both in concert and on albums)
