idk, i dont fit into any of those categories.
one day i'll be big on symphonic prog. then the next day i'll listen to nothing but jazz (no fusion). Then the next day i'll crave the insane and listen to Zappa, or Bungle, or SGM, or free jazz. Then the next day i'll only listen to jazz-fusion and eclectic prog.
then sometimes i'll even throw on some modern progressive progressive rock.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to the Grey Room to be with others of my own kind, listen to vinyl LPs (YES vinyl, LPs - we'll have none of your CDs/MP3/downloaded witchcraft there!) all of which are proper Progressive Rock, with double necked guitars, Mellotrons, Hammonds, serious looking musicians who sit down and where the only shredder to be found is used for disposing of any books in which reference is found to post 1980 so-called 'prog'.
Pah! |
Awww bless Nah, I have to say they don't make em like they did in the 70s, but there is some good sh*t nowadays as well
And for the record, i HATE shredders
Currently listening to Van Der Graaf - My Room at the moment, fantastic song, can i get an amen?

You know, one of the problems with age is forgetting the difference between being patronised and being condescended to...

I can't argue with that, I'm sometimes patronising without even realising it I do genuinely love the old timers though, they're filled with stories from their old prog days, like VDGG and King Crimson gigs as such. Have you any stories you'd like to share Jim? Please

Ah, the stories I could tell of times past when you were a mere babe in arms:
For example, I remember seeing Dream Theater 2 years ago...

This is for the "old timers". Just for a chuckle I noticed in today's birthdays there is a Juan listed as age 97. That should make us feel young again.

I clicked Old Guard, not just for the loveable Grey Roomers but for those of us that can remember the "Hot 'n' Sexy Walrus" thread.
