I've got an IP identifier and I will find out where you live if you vote for the final cut.
Oh yeah, and if anyone cares, I forgot Relics. Vote for "Tonight lets all make love in London" if you want to vote for Relics.

Piper is a great album in my opinion. Also Atom, Umma, Meddle & Dark Side.
But my favorite: Floyd - Barrett = "Wish You Were Here".

Perhaps! Though I'm very fond of "Blink Of An Eye" as well.
But "Juggling" was the album cover I could easily find to feature in my sig.... hence it's showcase below.

Tough decision, but I will have to decide on Dark Side, for its beautiful studio production and engineering. Animals would make a close second.

OK, I understand. "" is good too and it marked a welcome return to their progressive roots (Enchant were dangerously sliding towards pop territories with 'Break' and 'Juggling').

I voted for Atom Heart Mother, because it deserved a vote IMO, and I really love it (and The Wall also deserves a vote, BTW), but my (real) favorites are Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here.

Wish I Was There............. Probably THE best acoustic Prog Song ever... Better than Lucky Man or C'est La Vie. I've always loved long spaced out pieces like Shine on You Crazy Diamond. Welcome to the Machine: heavy and emotional. Have a Cigar sums up the music biz pretty good.
Animals and DSOTM are great, too. But if I could only have one, this is it.

Wish You Were Here, although Animals is just a hair behind it, and Dark Side, The Wall, Obscured By Clouds, Atom Heart Mother and The Division Bell are all just a little behind them.

I'm with you on that one m'man
This is definitely the point at which Waters's dictatorship of Floyd's direction took full effect (coincidentally, perhaps, this was the point in time then Rick Wright's creative input to the band began to wane due to ill health - he admits that this was the first time he had gone into the studio with absolutely no ideas or themes written - he was sacked from the band proper following the recording & only ever appeared with Floyd again as a paid session musician; a situation which continued right up to the last time Floyd toured) - the album was Waters's first opportunity to rant fully at the British class system, and I feel this is even angrier an album than either 'The Wall' or 'The Final Cut'.
The combination of Waters having effectively free rein in the studio, and the naked anger in the lyrical content, gave this album a harsh dynamic they never had previously, and never matched afterward.
Catharsis, indeed, and to my mind, one of the real high points of prog-rock

Don't bother with the IP identifier: I'm the one who voted for Final Cut. Why? Simply to get your goat, old chap...
Actually, I probably play Animals and WYWH more than any others, but, being perfectly honest, Final Cut comes third for frequency of listening. Then AHM, UG and Meddle.

Best albums
1) Animals . This has to be the most impressive transition for Pink Floyd with its dark Water's lyrics, power gilmour guitaring, and phsycedelic melody
2) Wall. Close contender to Animals. A great collaboration.
3) Dark Side of the moon. The best selling Pink Floyd album
4) Wish you were here. It rocks.

What a great band ... I can't believe Meddle is not even in my top half of studio albums!
A Saucerful Of Secrets takes the prize for me ... maybe for the pure sentimentality of having all 5 members contribute ... but it's also got my favourite Waters (Set The Controls) and Wright (Remember A Day) songs ... sigh

My favourites include:
Wish You Were Here: A Prog Classic, Loads of Spacey Synthesizers, Excellent Guitaring and Great Lyrics.
Dark Side of the Moon: One of their biggest selling Album, Great Songs, Ahead of it's Time.
Animals: Great Songs, Excellent Guitaring, Songs you can Jam along too (especially Sheep).
Meddle: Bluesy Throughout, Echoes is a Epic prog masterpiece, The last album not to feature Synthesizers as the first is Obsurred by Clouds.
Piper/Saucerful of Secrets: Both albums Pioneers of Prog Music (in my opinion), Great catchy tunes, lots of experimentation, both have some humourous tracks (Coporal Clegg, The Gnome and Bike).
I like the other album but the ones mentioned above are my Favourites.

I can't decide! They're all great (most of them are great)! I love Atom Heart Mother (the track). Wish You Were Here is great too. But I don't think there's a Pink Floyd album that doesn't have any filler. I'll have to go for Wish You Were Here, even though Shine on You Crazy Diamond has a bunch of filler.

Hell im a bit confused....
Many have picked animals as the best album from floyd... OK, roger is angry about the british class system, but it needs to have the musical accompanyment to back it up, like on the wall... Sorry, ive actually found that album a little boring, thou i havent heard it for several months....
Maybe i need to give it another listen...
On the positive side, i really couldnt decide which one is the best. Did vote for 'saucerful of secrets', but also love 'DSOTM', 'wish u were here', 'the wall', and 'the final cut'. Those other four albums could have easily taken out the title as well...
Hell, just call them brilliant and be done with it.

The best is definitely "Wish". "Shine on YCD" is the most touching melody in prog. It may as well be simple and not too prog but it is beautiful. Full of implicit energy, conviction, passion and heart. Anything else by Pink Floyd is cacophony when compared to this gem.
The rest of the songs are not plain filler as in "ATOM", "MEDDLE" and "THE WALL". Well, "The Wall" is worth something for "In the flesh", "Comfortably" and "Run like hell", the rest is 60 minutes of filler. "Animals" seem to have just two fillers. However, "Dogs", "SHeep" and "Pigs" are filler after the main choruses. The rest of each song is copy-paste of those chorus with a middle section of nothing.
"Dark side" is all filler. jajaja. No, seriously...only "On the run" is filler. However, this is album has no progressive rock whatsoever. It has some rock, classic rock in "Time" and "money". ...Are you gonna tell me "Us and them" is prog?. Itīs more like contemporary adult.

That was the best example and a perfect exercise of overrating an album.
In the same way, you could also say "The final cut" is the ultimate perfection of minimalism. When in reality, it is nothing but an album with no music.
