Probably my favorite Pink Floyd song, The Wall being my first prog album and The Trial one of the reasons I got into this genre. I love the different voices the guitar part. Its a fabulous ending to a magnificent album (I know theres one more track but it pretty much ends things up).

What are your thoughts on this track? My parents say listening to that song is like attending a rock opera, usually whoever I play it for turns it off when the deep voice of the judge comes in and tell me bad things about my music selection.

What about other songs with this style of adding voices and strange noises (i.e. Drafted Again) do you love it or hate it?

I think The Trial is inspired - but then the entire album is, so I guess that goes without saying

The Most 'Get 'Em Out By Friday' Pink Floyd song I must say. I like how the Trial in portrayed in the film and during the live tour, utilizing Scarfe's vivid imagination and creativity.

I truly, sincerely think 'The Trial' is absolute tripe! It's an essential 'part' of the storyline no doubt, but I NEVER make it through the whole song anymore before pressing ffwd...

It's ROGER WATERS at his most pretentious.

(But to each their own)

I remember first hearing the trial. I was about 11 years old, and it made a massive impact on me. The Wall became my first prog purchase, and I still think it's a classic.

The Trial is a ridiculously over the top, operatic masterpiece of prog rock. I love it!

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!
