King Crimson are returning to active service in 2008. The dates are listed in full over on the band's official website, http://www.dgmlive.com/news.htm?entry=1452 - DGMLive.
The line-up will be Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto and Gavin Harrison.

You can read my take on the news over on http://sidsmith.blogspot.com/2008/03/return-of-king-crimson.html - my blog.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

I'd like to see some more dates come, but if not I don't mind going to New York, it'll be worth it.

And historically they always break up at the end of a USA tour, so shall we expect this reunion to be very short lived then? LOL

No seriously, Mr. Fripp's explanations of the USA-only thing are that in the US they (KC) are perceived as a modern (current) band, like Tool, whereas in Europe they supposedly think of KC as classic rock artists like Yes, so they expect them to play "In the Court...", "Starless", etc.

The other criteria was that Europe = many countries = much paperwork to travel. USA = one country = less paperwork to travel.

In any case, if they make it down to South America (reaaally unlikely) I'll be sure NOT to request "Vrooom" or "Thrak" since those are already oldies!!! Wink

Cheers, J.-

Is anyone interested in a pair of tickets to the August 16 concert at the Nokia Theatre?   I discovered after I purchased the tickets that my wife & I cannot attend; we quickly purchased tickets to the Aug 17 show, but now I have this pair available.

Please let me know - thanks!Smile
