Drama has it's gems( Machine Messiah and Tempus Fugit), otherwise it's okay at best.

It's hardly a classic but nor is it "dreadful" as Karn so bluntly and inaccurately put it. There are good moments and not-so-good ones, but the whole project is marred by the lack of one and a half core members of Yes (Wakeman has proved to be at least

As the title suggests it's a drama.

two or three good moments don't make an album.
But maybe I'm just biased, because without Jon there is no Yes IMO.

I miss Jon, and I'm not a fan of that "new" guy's voice, but I can overlook that for the excellent songs!

Sure it's not technically yes, but I say it's an excellent album nonetheless.

Drama is an excellent album. Where Tormato fell a bit short was that they had become a bit bored in the sound ' Silent Wings of Freedom' being a good example ( still good though). Drama basically said ' stuff you' to the critics and Chris Squire leading th

I was hesitant to buy Drama, but I was quite suprised by it. I enjoy it a lot as much as any other Yes album. Machine Messiah is phenomenal, Man in a White Car is great its is own weird little way, Does it Really Happen? is great, as is Into the Le

When you think what the band were up against at the time, Drama is quite an achievement. With Wakemen and Anderson gone, they had their work cut out. Steve Howe has said in interviews how brutal and uncompromising British audiences were. At concerts the

Drama really happens. Probably the hardest edged Yes album. I wouldn`t call it  a classic but  it was a very bright and refresshing album after "Tomato". I had started to give up on the band but it only took me one listen to Drama appreciate i

Being the huge Yes fan I am, I don't think Drama is as bad as some make it out to be. Sure, it's not their best, by far, but it sure as heck beats that 80s crap they did. I feel it's the truly last enjoyable (or somewhat enjoyable) Yes studio album until 2

In my mind the four greatest Yes albums ever are: The Yes Album, Relayer, Drama, and Talk.

These albums show each Yes era at its peak.

And yes, I do like Close to the Edge, but I think Relayer trumps it

Based on this thread, I just ordered a "like new" CD of Drama from Ebay. I am really psyched to check it out.

I think Drama is best heard when forgetting that they called themselves "Yes."  Sure, it has some of the Yes sound, but without Jon, its doesn't have the magic the other albums have.  Just imagine its by another band (call the band "Cinema") a

My favourite Yes album may be Relayer, with CTTE close behind, but I LOVE Drama. Trevor Horn is OK at best really, but Steve Howe's and Chris Squire's backing vocals are good enough to sustain the whole thing. Geoff Downes' keyboards bring some much needed

Drama really is amazing. It's one of my top few Yes albums.. their sound on that record, while sounding rather cold and dark, was a nice breath of fresh air; not that the air was stail from Tormato by any means -- Tormato was also a great record--

I think we should look at it like this:

What if in 1980 Drama was the new Buggles record?  I think then (and now) the prog fraternity  would have lauded it as a great album by this great new prog band that sound qui

Putting "Drama" aside, let's see if we all agree whether "Union" was the absolute worst thing Yes ever put out. Or does "Symphonic music of Yes" qualify.

The only reason Drama is bad, is because of the high standart of the previous albums. Judged purely on it's own merits (without the bagage of a Relayer or CTTE in the back of your mind while listening) it's quite an OK album, maybe even good.

I think 'Drama' is a total classic myself; miles ahead of the dire 'Tormato' and the last album they did, in my opinion, that deserves the 'classic' status, though 'The Ladder' had its moments.

'Machine Messiah' is a superb song, and shows Yes a
