Yes we are a serious site, and proud of what we have achieved. Sometimes though, we can lose sight of the fact that this is a place to enjoy yourself, a relief from the trials of real life.

 ! I do tend to take everything seriously, sometimes a bit too much so. However, I recognise we do get too caught up in some things sometimes, and lose sight of the fact that we are all here to relieve the stress and tensions of our everyday life. |

Ahem - sorry - just a quick reference to agree with Easy Livin here; this is definitely a serious site & a great resource to discover new bands (it's cost me a fortune over the last four years); but as one of our revered senior members would attest, at the end of the day it's just music - occasionally we seem to get a little hotter under the collars than is strictly necessary... So - a serious site, but a place where fun can be had. -------------

I'm on the fence here. I think itcan get taken a little too seriously sometimes, it is a bit of fun and a way to escape. A little question for the admins of this site: how long did PA take to create and get onto the internet roughly? I find the top brass here take the site very seriously, and I thank them for their commitment to helping music fans both find great music & also share the passion. I love the occasional heated debate, and have observed that the most (ahem) emotional discussions calm down as one poster apologizes or steps back & re-iterates their position in a more calm manner. I've been here for about 2 & a half yrs, first as Pantacruelgruel, and now Debrewguy. I've also learned to think twice if I seem to get too involved on a thread. But the site work done in assigning bands to genres, creating new genres to better assist & guide those of us who are always open to new treasures, the seemingly inexhaustible knowledge of admin members, collabs, and yes, even the rest of us when it comes to Prog (and all music in general) makes this THE music site that I regularly visit. Indeed, the hardest part when we disconnected the internet for a few months was not that I could no longer do my banking online, but that I couldn't follow new reviews, MP3 streams, and the rollicking threads found in these pages. I'm member of several forums and sites, write for many of them, but never felt so rewarding than the job we are doing here. So yes, I consider Prog Archives the real deal.

I voted the second option - for obvious reasons (i.e. that is exactly what we sometimes do).
