Name: Lost Reverie.
Country: Mexico.
Genre: Something between Heavy Prog, Crossover Prog, Post-Rock and Prog Metal.

Links: http://www.myspace.com/lostrev - www.myspace.com/lostrev , http://www.soundclick.com/lostreverie - www.soundclick.com/lostreverie (includes some cover songs I've recorded for practice), http://www.last.fm/music/Lost+Reverie - www.last.fm/music/Lost+Reverie

About: This is a solo project that I started a year ago. Originally, this was conceived as a band with a similar sound to that of Porcupine Tree's latest albums. Something changed along the way, and the "Lost Reverie sound" was born: The music is quite varied, having influences ranging from Ambient Music to Alternative Rock, with many forms of Metal, or even Pop Music in between. So there's somewhat epic stuff, mellow stuff, and even an acoustic love song thingy. While I try to be as eclectic as I can, I try to remain in the "easy listening" road, so that my music can be of anyone's appeal.

Members: Me (Juan Herrera) -> Guitars, vocals, synths, programming.

A comment: The tracks available are instrumental demo recordings, using just a PC Microphone (thus the somewhat bad quality). I'm currently working on two EPs (with better equipment and production, obviously) which will be free for everyone to download, with most songs having lyrics and stuff. So, please, ignore the production for the time being :)

I'd love to read your thoughts, cheers.

-J.

I definitely see the Porcupine Tree influence you mentioned, as well as maybe some Opeth in the heavier sections. It's definitely far from bad, especially when you take into account that it's one person doing everything. You definitely have a talent, keep up the good work and keep releasing songs!

Nice one! I'm not the biggest PT fan, but this is very well done! Funny you mention later PT albums, because Photographs made me think of Sky Moves Sideways, not exactly the latest PT album Wink.

I hope this effort results into more great music, this is pretty well done, especially consdering it's all done by one person (even with the help of a synthesizer). Going to download the demo and put it in my MP3 player for the coming week's batch.

Hey, I had totally forgotten about this...
Thanks for your comments, I really appreciate it!

Anyway, just wanted to say that I canceled the whole two-EPs-thing and made an album (called Desiderata) instead. Also, I decided to leave it as an instrumental album, for I've yet to improve my vocals. Plus, I prefer these songs this way.

You can download it on mp3@320kbps from Wise Owl Records, http://www.wiseowlrecords.com/catalog - here .

Hope you like it :)

Hey, you told me this is going to be for sale later on. Let's see what the genre teams have to say about you, in that case. Thumbs%20Up

Genre teams: please have a listen. We may have to postpone an inclusion until the album is on sale, but I hope you can spend a bit of your precious time on this one.

Listened to "Desiderata" a few moments ago, really nice album Juan.  Love the atmosphere of the album and really enjoyed the piano interludes in most of the tracks.  I ordered one of those 50 copies from Owl Records...

Raff, you taking it to HP? Not enough metal for the PMT..

Clap A real album... I hope there'll be more than 50 copies in the future. If HP likes you, at least you'll get some exposure. Well done!

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Hey! Cacho told me about Lost Reverie's incursion to the ProgArchives a few days ago :)
Thanks everyone for giving my project a listen, I'm glad to be a part of the Archives.

I'm slowly working on new stuff for another release which will most likely feature some vocals. Let's see how it turns out!
