I was listening to the Nigel Kennedy version on the radio earlier whilst driving home, not initially knowing what it was and it dawned on me how much is sounds like some of the moments of King Crimson's Providence (I think it was this track) from the Starless and Bible Black album, particularly the style of Kennedy's playing, which reminded me of David Cross.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Maybe it is a known fact that I have never read or heard about before, but if someone could maybe enlighten me on the this, I would be pleased to hear from you.

Addenda:

It seems it was the influence for Larks' Tongues in Aspic.  I should have checked before posting the above.

However, I'm sure it's Providence that sounds like it more than anything off of LTiA.
