There's a band called Machinae Supremacy that I've known about for a while, but I think they deserve more recognition than they get at the moment. The music is a blend of metal, and electronica/video game influences. I don't know if I'd call it prog but if enough people think it is I might suggest them for inclusion.
At the moment, they have released three albums, "Deus Ex Machinae", "Redeemer", and "Overworld", and a soundtrack for the video game Jets N Guns, along with 30 something free songs available for download on their website.

Have a listen at www.myspace.machinaesupremacy and let me know what you think. I really think they deserve some recognition so that's why I'm starting this.
Their website is down for now, but if you want to check back and download the available tracks the address is www.machinaesupremacy.com

My younger brother has a CD of theirs. It's not really my type of thing but they do some interesting stuff. Quite proggy at times from what I've heard

I like their cover of the Moogle theme. They wouldn't have occurred to me if I was thinking about progressive rock, though - they're a nu-metal band now.

I don't know if I'd call them nu metal but I agree that what prog elements did exist before are less present after hearing a bit of the new album (five of the tracks are posted on the myspace right now). I do think I'd prefer it if they went back to the video game/electronic themes a bit more but they've been moving away from that more and more. However, I do think they have more of their own style than the average nu metal band.
