There's a band that plays the Chicago region called Animation that I've seen a few times that is mind blowing! A three piece set up exactly like Rush (the bass player sings and plays keys as well), you could close your eyes and it sounded exactly like Rush (when Geddy could still hit the high notes). Their drummer was a funny looking little short guy who was a mailman in his real life, but man, he was a master! He had a whole drum-solo-composition just like Neil does, but it was totally different, and he even threw in the riff from "One More Red Nightmare" the last time I saw him. Unfortunately, I just got their new postcard in the mail a couple of weeks ago, and I see they have a different drummer now, so I have no idea if they are still as good (the bass player/keys/singer guy is excellent, but the guitarist had a tendency to deteriorate ever so slightly as the night went on, probably due to him "chain-drinking" big schooners of Sam Adams all night). I also noticed that they are now a Police cover band in addition to Rush. I love the Police, but I'm not sure if that's good news or not.

There is a neo-prog band called Supper's Ready (from Luxembourg).

And there is a band called Aqualung, but I don't know whether it is named after Jethro Tull's famous album/song.
