Hypnosis takes a lot of influence from big prog metal bands, which is easily noticeable with the first listen.  Their sound is very American (which surprised me coming from an Italian band).  Nonetheless they do a pretty good job with their sound.  It's a little bit lacking in my opinion, but I've been in a prog metal band before and know how hard it can be to get the right sounds.

Edit:  My claim about them sounding American was somewhat incorrect, and after more listens my view on this band has changed, please read my later posts for more information.

By the way, it appears as though they do have an album out (Arcobaleno di Sogni), so Andrea if you could contact them and find out for sure what their status is on that album and if it's available for purchase.  Thanks.

Great music, in line with what Dan mentioned. It doesn't sound too American to me, but that's probably because of the language.

I contacted the band about their album - hope they now some English. If it's a real independent release rather than a demo, I'll move them to Suggest.

When I think of what I consider an "American" sound (refering to prog metal), I think of bands such as Dream Theater and similar stuff.  I mainly made that assumption (about their sound) after watching their 'making of the recordings' videos.  After a second viewing/listening I can see that I was very wrong, although I still feel a slight DT-ish vibe coming from them (especially the drummer during the heavier sections).

Again though I based a lot of my I said about them from the videos because I was more interested with the videos at the time (a band I'm in is doing a similar video thing just for fun, so I wanted to see how these guys did their videos/recordings).  Also, the drummer is wearing a DT shirt and looks to me like a big fan of them, which could've lead to my judgment.  When listening to the recordings there is a clear Italian Symph sound, although I must admit I'm not very experienced with Italian prog rock in general.

Got a message from the band yesterday. They only have a home recorded demo out, so we'll keep 'm under our unsigned wings for now. A great listen though!

They want to join us on the forum one of these days, but they have some doubts about their level of English language, so they're still thinking about it.
