These guys use all the old style prog instruments but they don't really sound like a copy of the old bands. The style of songs are quite interesting and catchy prog rock tunes

Now this is indeed very much 70s influenced - and very well played. An interesting vision on their own music is presented on their MySpace page, and quoted below:

Quote I'm following the music that was called Progressive rock by the media about 40 years ago. It's called Progressive rock, but I don't think the style of music has to be inventive and break boundaries. It's really jazz rock and it's exciting and that makes the songs progressive because they stay interesting after many listens. I'm not following the modern era which has been labelled progressive rock because it's not usually the same style of music. Many of these new bands have taken the Progressive label the wrong way and are trying to invent new styles of guitar based music but so often the actual songs aren't exciting, so they are not actually progressing. But there is some good stuff out there. Mainly fusion based prog :)

Oh - and their #1 friend on MySpace is our own Violin Cyndee....

I've contacted them on any possible album releases in the past or near future. Worth considering for symphonic, and maybe JR/F (but that requires some further listening).

Jah, I asked them about the record label. Cannot find it on the web - if they're signed, they're all yours for the taking Micky. Wink

Well, Micky, get your progger scooper out in about eight months from now - they're signed, but not released yet. Here's what I got back from them just now:

Hi,
We have only just started as a band about 4 months ago and are just working on our fifth song now. We haven't got an album yet but plan to have one after 12 months, so maybe in 8 months from now. We just added our roughly unfinished songs to Myspace. Money Hungry is fairly rough at the moment, but that was our first song and we just jumped straight into the next songs before touching that song up. We are from Melbourne Australia and we have friends who are starting a new prog record Label in Melbourne who have only signed 3 prog bands from the area. I'm not sure if progmonster records even have their website up yet. But feel free to add our site to your prog band listing. Our songs will sound better when we complete them and we'll be doing acoustic stuff, plus bouzouki etc. Trying to cover several styles. Thanks for listening and spread the word around :)

The songs Vigilante and Outerspace have been updated Big%20smile . Midievil, Vigilante and Outerspace are brilliant songs if you listen in headphones closely a couple of times each. Some of the catchiest and smartest prog of today. There is no need to be overcomplex. These songs are perfect and never get boring

Only if they are the 'official' web site of a release band. Check the http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=35133 - this post in this thread for what the current guidelines are.

With some big improvements to be made to 'Money Hungry' soon and a new song on it's way. Most of the songs will have vocals and I'm going to attempt to email a true prog genius (Richard Sinclair)  to do some vocals hehe. I'm attempting the true style prog(70s style jazz/classical rock). Hopefully they are fun melodies with interesting bass lines, mildy clever and complex ideas Big%20smile. Plenty of keys, guitar played in moderation, even contribution of instruments and good team work Tongue. Every now and then when I get bored, I try and think of 3 melodies and make a song. They are just instant thoughts which I only bother to think of when I'm in the mood to make a tune. They might sound a bit rushed and robotic but I'll add bits and pieces soon. Enjoy some old style prog/fusion. Btw, the word 'progressive' never enters my mind when listen to old prog. I don't believe in the word, I just believe song writing is the answer Wink
