. For all my teen years he was the only national (UK) DJ who dared play prog, championing many obscure prog and neoprog bands in the early 80s. I am especially gratefull for the exposure he gave to the Enid, when no one in the biz would touch them with a broadcasting barge-pole. Cheers Tommy.Replies:

Not at all-I hope we are all unanimous that he will be sorely missed and was up there with Alan Freeman with his contribution in "spreading the word" about Prog and hard rock. -------------

Agreed Emdiar, however, for me Alan Freeman flew the prog flag and played such wonderful music.Regarding The Enid my close friend and music composer was William Gilmour who should have waited until I got over my homesickness in 1975; but that's another story.But yes, Tommy will be missed, not any like him around now.Gilmour was as good as Wakeman and Emerson |
