I'm sure I forgot about a hundred of them. Remember any
good ones?
Cheers

I voted for TIE but anything with Robbie the Robot is good.

You're right, I forgot "Forbidden Planet" with Leslie
Neilson. As well as "War of the Worlds". I thought "War"
was later. One of my favorites! I have the original radio
brodcast on vinyl.
Next thread will be "Giant Insect Movies"

War of the Worlds, When Worlds Collide, Forbidden Planet, and, for goodness sake, where is Invasion of the Body Snatchers!

Peace.

Not to mention Anne Francis.

The Theremin was used for the soundtrack of Forbidden Planet, if I'm not mistaken.

I like the early Quatermass film 'The Quatermass Experiment' (1958?).One of the creepiest sc-fi films ever made and one that has been copied a great deal.(It's the one where an astronaut comes back from space having had contact with a mysterious asteroid and now something about him isn't 'quite right'.ie he stares into the distance and doesn't talk..later he mutates into a hideus monster that is tracked down and killed in Westminster Abbey by Professor Quatermass)

Gotta agree with Maani here WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE( an Acadamy Award winner to!!) is one of my favourite sci fi movies(there is talk of a remake...... shudder..what politically correct angle will they put in...)

Forbidden Planet is one of THE great sci fi movies

and let me put in a plug for two interesting but obscure sci fi movies from the late fifties or early sixties

ATOMIC SUBMARINE(with Arthur Franz)..featuring an early "hawks v doves" debate forshadowing the turmoil of the late sixties(as well as being an interesting sci fi movie all round)

BEYOND THE TIME BARRIER....ATOMIC WAR IS HELL!!!

Damn! I knew I missed some great ones. "Body Snatchers"
is actually a favorite of mine. Couldn't sleep for weeks.

Didn't Mystery Science Theater 3000 make fun of This Island Earth?
