In PT's first appearance in Dallas, Steven Wilson and gang showed what state-of-the-art progressive rock and roll is all about.  It was an amazingly tight show and Harrison in particular was a monster on drums throughout.  The venue was perfect for their music in that it is intimate, yet expansive enough to hold their intensity without overwhelming your ears.  The creative videos accented the themes of the songs in an unobtrusive way and the lighting was subdued but dynamic in all the appropriate spots.  I'd pick out a particular tune but the fact is that every number was performed with emotion and commitment so I can only say they ROCKED the house (but "Trains" in the encore was unbelievable).  If they came to a city near you and you didn't go then shame on you.  You missed a chance to hear one of the all-time best bands in their prime.  For those of you who didn't let the opportunity go by you know exactly what I'm talking about.  Thank you, Porcupine Tree, for a fantastic evening well-spent.  The packed theater and enthusiastic reception proved that you are welcome in Texas any time you want to visit and wow us all again.  Clap

I couldn't go ( ) but I'm glad to hear that the place was packed! Just goes to show we aren't as backwards down here as some may think. HoB is a great place as well. Hopefully they'll come back in the future. I think this was like only their third show in Texas ever.
