The Fall Progtacular – Wizard Robes, Singing Flowers, and Flying Pigs On October 24th, the Abbey Lounge in Somerville, MA will be bombarded with a night of unadulterated Progressive Rock pretense! First up is Private Circus, who defines their freewheeling progressive music as “a clown car with an afterburner”, and whose repertoire “ranges from instrumentals, to songs about relationships, trees, deluded clowns, and obsessive cookie selling girl scouts”. Next up is Your Move with a heaping helping of your favorites from Yes, Genesis, Rush, and Pink Floyd. Closing out the night is Progzilla, a classic progressive rock tribute band including members of notable Boston bands: The Bentmen, Specimen 37, Axemunkee, Sutra, funf, Voodoo Screw Machine, Larry Banilow,The Buckners, Brett Rosenberg Problem, and The Rudds. Progzilla will be performing songs from the legendary bands Pink Floyd, Genesis, King Crimson, Yes, Rush, and Camel – complete with costuming (where appropriate). The show begins promptly at 9 PM at the Abbey Lounge, 3 Beacon St., Somerville, MA. The Abbey Lounge is a 21+ venue. Cover charge is $7. The first 5 audience members to wear their Rick Wakeman Wizard Robes™ will receive a free invitation to the Druid ritual immediately after the show. Flaming gongs are, sadly, prohibited.
