from IQ website:-

NEW KEYBOARD PLAYER

We’re very happy to announce the new addition to the IQ family. Please say hello to Mark Westworth, our wizzy new keyboard player. Mark is currently best known for his work with Darwin’s Radio.

Rehearsals for the IQ European dates in November are now underway and Mark’s first appearance with us will be in Rome on November 23rd. We’re sure you will all join us in welcoming him to the fold and we look forward to seeing you when we play live.

DARWIN'S RADIO is a good band...but isn't it too average for IQ level?

As long as IQ endures, I'm a happy man.

Maybe he'll add a lot to the band. Who knows?

Didn't he play for Grey Lady Down in the 90's?  If that's the guy I'm thinking it is, he is a pretty good keyboard player, and I'm very glad that IQ is continuing on.  Still, I'll miss Martin.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

I'm sure the new keyboard player is great but I still can't imagine IQ without Orford.  I'm sorry but they won't be the same.  I wish IQ the best cause I love the band and I will of course be buying their next release as soon as it comes out.  I really wish I saw them last year when they played at a local festival in my area.  Little did I know then that Orford would be leaving.  Add to this the loss of their very good drummer and we may be listening to a whole different band.

Good to see they're on top of things. I can't wait to hear the new album, the composition they've played live, Frequency, sounds very good, pretty much a continuation of Dark Matter, so it will be interesting to hear Westworth's style incorporated into the sound.

don't forget we also now have Martin's solo career to look forward to, his first release was strong so I'll expect more of the same now that he isn't commited to a band.

I heard him, I've written a http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=117384 - review . I listened to him hence I CAN judge - just because I have a right to have my own opinion. Why do Prog fans always bitch other Prog fans!

Don't know Darwins Radio so I cannot give any comment.
For sure replacing Marting will be very tough especially if Martins contribution to compositions was a high percentage on the total (and I think it was!).
One thing is not clear: will this guy replace Martin on permanent basis? As far as I see there is no information on Darwins Radio about his departure and eventual replace..Ermm

IQ is changing - first Paul Cook, then Martin Orford - seems that only Matt Holmes remained the only original member, that has never left. But of course I am eager for new album!!

I have a CD by Darwin's Radio called "Eyes Of The World"  I think it is pretty good actually ...  I'm pretty fussy   about prog and keyboards in general lets just say I think this situation for IQ is a pretty decent arrangement ..  this new guy has something to live up to yet hes not at all green hes had some valuable experiance but nothing thats goona create ego problems in the IQ camp.   good call IQ   Clap
