Again, I noticed an error while submitting a review on above album.
Before I submitted, the overall rating for the album was 4.14.
After I submitted a review with evaluation 4, the album's overall rating increased to 4.16! Confused

Now, this seems mathematically incorrect. What do you think?

Could it be because of the weighting given to collab reviews?

It's the weighted average. You submitted a review -> there are more reviews for the album -> the weight increases -> all the previously submitted reviews have more weight.

LOL I'm not sure if there's a simple way to explain ... but mathematically it seems to be perfectly fine.

^^ for the majority of times I 'rate' an album, the rating doesn't move .01 either way!!LOL

still, I don't really think anyone is interested in my oppinion about an album, so perhaps it doesn't really matter....

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

This is especially notable on albums that rarely get's any ratings/reviews. I edited one word on my 5 star review of Panzerpappas third album and it shooted up from 4.30 to 4.53 because of these new weight calculationsLOL

^ now that's odd ... editing your review should not cause any changes. That really might be a bug in the system ... did you submit that review when you were a normal member (not a prog reviewer)?

I submitted it as a prog reviewer, but edited it after the new weight calculation changes.

Maybe someone else reviewed it around the same time?

I don't think so, I would have noticed that.

Someone(s) could have edited their review and/or changed their rating.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
