Clive Mitten of Twelfth Night used to play one - you can hear it to full effect on "Live at the Target".

i would love to get a 5 or 6 string... i have a fretless right now, so i'm thinking maybe a 5 string rickenbacker?  (dream on!) ------------- I bleed coffee.
