Yep, it is. It's on the first Gabriel solo album which is my fav., but "Here comes the flood" is also very good.
I have DVD Gabriel's gig in Rockpalast 1979 (with Tony Levin) where he performed " Moribund"

When you say "I just discovered Burgermeister now", what you really mean is you discovered the whole album just now, right? Not just the 1 song? Because you don't illegally download, you buy albums, right? And because you know that Peter Gabriel 1 is definitely an album worth buying, right?
He's my favourite songwriter.
The Growing Up DVD is absolutely mind-blowing.

Oh yeah! One of the best albums of all time.
I know "Family Snapshot" is about the Kennedy assassination, but did you ever notice the similarities to John Hinckley?

2 has always been my fave, I like the harsh bleakness of it and Fripp's cold production is just perfect. White Shadow, Mother of Violence, Exposure - and of course the very excellent On The Air (a song that PG's old drummer would later rework for his famous "Walking On The Air" single about a Snowman that runs off with a Painter who does not require a jacket, even in the heaviest snow... I think..)

Uggghhh
I cant stand 2, it's simply not peter gabriel to me.
I want Passion and Up, but my wishlist is huge, so it will be a while before I get those.

Each to his own. It's not an easy-listening album by any stretch and quite difficult to get into, but ultimately rewarding never-the-less, (a bit like RIO albums are).
As Shaking the Tree does not contain a single track from "2" I'd say the record company wasn't that fond of it either.

I'm a huge PG fan, but I also am not a fan of 2. In fact, strangely enough, of the trilogy of albums that Fripp produced in the late 70's/early 80's, including his Exposure and Daryl Hall's Sacred Songs, the only one I don't care for is 2.

I've had the vinyl from my dad for ages, yet I never listened to it, I don't have the CD either. So, no, I don't illegally download, I just listened to the vinyl for the first time.

Ah, back on topic: Moribund the Burgermeister was a great live song. His early solo concerts were very stripped-down and back to basics (in contrast to the theatre of PG-era Genesis) with only white lighting and very few on-stage theatrics. Moribund just about the only time where PG would "act" the song on stage, using a platform with up-lighters to illuminate his whole body during the "But I will find out" sections. Very simple but very effective.

Up is my favorite Gabriel album! It's simply amazing. Much better then the mediocre"Us" or "Ovo". Passion is my second favorite.

Back to 1 for a minute. My favorite song there is Humdrum. Very expansive.
But I'll agree that 3 is a better album.

I think the intro to Here Comes the Flood, especially coming out of the bombastic Down the Dolce Vita, is my ultimate musical goosebump moment.

Up is one of my favorite albums ever. Sadly, I don't have any of the untitled ones yet, just Up, So, and Passion. All three are very good, but Up is several notches above.

Been fan of Gabriel for a long time. I have listened to most of his solo albums and he has really great songs there. I like especially his live performances.
