Cry My hard drive has tanked! (I'm writing from work.)

"See" you in a week or so. Be good, and be nice to each other while I'm away.

BLAST those tunes!

Peter

With a name like Peter, his Balzac must be enormous.

Ahhh... Are you backing (have backed) up your hard drive and reformatting...?

That would be the thing to do...

Ha!

Finally, my stealth geek-squirrel has made it across the Atlantic with only his copy of 'Canadian Hard Drives For Dummies', a small screwdriver, and a bag of nuts for company.

Reporting back, he advised had almost been caught by an elderly King Charles Spaniel, but fooled it by standing stock still & making a noise like an umbrella (so dumb, these canines).

Pausing only to plant tobacco plants behind the hi-fi in case his master ever attacked in person, Nigel (for it is he) waited for the warhog rumblings signalling that Rideout was asleep before going to work on his hard drive......... when he finished, he attacked Rideout's computer, paused only to convince the Spaniel that he was actually a small duck named Gerald, and left as quietly as he had arrived....... thus waking half the neighbourhood!

Rideout slept on.........

Big smile I'm back! New hard drive, files saved, zero cost (HD was still on warranty), and a burning urge to write a review.... tomorrow!Wink (Too tired tonight!)

Smile Joren: Thanks for the kind words -- much appreciated!

Wink The devious duplicitous diminutive dastardly dirty "double D" duo, Dude and Danbo: Thanks, but I don't even have a Balzac! (I did however, work in a big Toronto hospital, where I once transported a patient whose name appeared -- in reverse hospital fashion -- as: Large, Peter. Imagine going through life with that moniker! I actually collected hundreds of comical/naughty names out of the hospital's computer system during my time there -- maybe I'll post more, if you wish....)

Geek Verisimilitude: Good advice, but I'm technologically incompetent. The computer store guys did that, gratis!

Jimmy Jazz: Once more your unique, razor-sharp, and delightfully twisted wit has made me laugh out loud! (At work, yet; but they're used to my sense of humour there! Today, for example, as a co-worker and I were being set up on the inter-office email system, she asked me "Are you in?" and I replied "Gee. I wish I had a dollar for every time a woman has asked me that one!") You made my day, you silly blighter! Cheers! Pip pip! (BTW, Wellington the CKC spaniel is only 2 years old. Your sources -- much like your dentures, your hairpiece and your empire  -- are slipping!)Wink

It's good to be back!

TTYL,

Peter

Yes, "Very Similar To," high speed separate phone line, and a fast & powerful computer. I made sure of that when I bought this machine (my 2nd) 1 & 1/2 years ago. I can't quote the stats, but it works for me, & seems to be able to handle anything.
