I'm curious,
is possible insert Katatonia into "Progressive Metal" list?

I'm not sure I agree with Katatonia being classed as Progressive Metal to be quite honest, but I'm sure others will agree with you.

And before someone else says it, this should be in the http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=1 - Suggest new bands / artists section!

Katatonia once was actually added to the site but then deleted for not being prog enough...Cry Much more prog than some power metal we have on here IMO, and an absolutely wonderful bandHeart

I think this may be in the wrong section...

I quite like Katatonia but i'm not sure the are progressive metal. Their songs are fairly original sounding and few bands sound like them, but they are still fairly short, simple peices of music. I think, if anything, they belong in prog-related.

I do admit, though, that i've only heard 'Brave Murder Day' and 'Viva Emptiness' and maybe i'm unfamiliar with material thats more progressive.

Anders Nyström's side project http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2381 - Diabolical Masquerade is here though - much more prog than Katatonia IMO.

The irony is, we have Coheed and Cambria.... Go figure...Metal bands have to be really, really prog to be added.... There's more leniency with regular rock....

It's all give and take. I feel C&C was a perfect add to the genre it was.

I had one album by them but later exchanged due to my poor love to metal, however i believe it was kind of prog metal, but if someone says that Katatonia are not prog at all, i am sure there are some metal bands listed here that are not prog at all.

they're a very good band,  Prog metal is a great genre -  but every metal band can't be Prog,  I found the attached clip strictly metal.
