Klaus Schulze
's Berlin 1 isn't really an official Klaus Schulze album.

It's actually a sampler cassette, released in a quick and sporadic cover in 1986 (so not 1976, the year of the live recording!!), sold out and left as a bootleg or, best, as a cassette or "lone track" release.

Furthermore, the piece within this album was re-released, in a longer version, in one of the bonus CDs from The Ultimate Edition. Since that is an official box release, I think the sampler cassette shouldn't have an entry of itself.

I realize that philippe already put a good word for it, it's undeniable that this is a good to be affirmed Klaus Schulze music record, but the circumstances (cassette release; music already available on a more official box release) would comply that Berlin 1 shouldn't be a separate album in Klaus Schulze's page.

Rico ... I see what you are saying here, but if the MC was originally available as an authorised release (albeit a limited edition) then it is a legitimate entry on PA. Perhaps we should include a clause such as "originally a limited edition MC and subsequently bootlegged" or similar?

please check out the official discography and decided if it's good or not:

(it's under Lonely Tracks)

and here's actually another insight:

http://users.bart.nl/~klooster/discography/berlin_1.htm

by this, the 20 minutes Schulze piece is part of an electronic compilation, meant to celebrate Dutch KLEM magazine 25th anniversary.

Sorry for the delay in replying .....

Thanks to your links the situation is clear .... this is a various artists compilation which includes one track by Schultz. It is NOT a Schultz album therefore, and the official Schultz website is misleading.

Question is: do we want to retain it? If so then it should be switched to VA.

(No problem. I'm patient. LOL)
(but I don't like misspells on Schulze WinkLOLLOLEvil%20SmileEvil%20Smile)

It doesn't sound like the various artists are 100% progressive. Nor that the label shares a deep major stock within progressive electronic artists.

So I wouldn't keep the record.
