Well, I could''t make a list of 25, simply because I don't know 25 separate Italian prog bands. Try later to make a list.  Why isn't Semiramis on your list, you don't like it?

ahhahahha... isn't that the truth.  I build my expansive collection in my youth based on two creative premises...

1) I didn't bother with girlfriends....    the biggest drain on your  finances you will ever know. LOL I didn't get my drivers license till I was in college so I didn't even have to worry about that. So everything I made went went straight to Waxie Maxie's.

2)  Creative financial management....   for example when my parents when to Europe for 6 weeks when I was in H.S. they left me $500 emergency money.  So like any teenager....   I made the food that mom left in the house last for 6 weeks... and went on one HELL of a shopping spree hahhahhaa.  In the 80's that could go a long way LOL

Ah, Italian Progressive Rock! I wish I could get my hands on some of those albums. It's the lack of the material here in my place I'm afraid. Not a big fan of online stores.

if you are not going to go the online route probably not... .have you tried ordering through music stores?  We had a thread a couple of days ago that mentioned that.   That is how I got some of mine.  Even though they aren't on the shelves.... many music stores can special order directly from distributors for you

the key is to find a store that uses Japanese distributors.... the Japanese seem to love RPI and for many years they were the ones who kept those albums in print before the Italians got their act together and started reissuing them.

Well... Likely it is matter of mentality.  In fact "Generazioni (Storia Di Sempre)" presents a very epic music (in general) that well it is adapted to the European story.  And since the story forge the mentality...  A key of reading is able to be this.

Ahhh... "Veneta Et Anima" is an album for you, micky. see this link for order this album: http://www.donelladelmonaco.com - www.donelladelmonaco.com

ahhh.. thanks for the suggestion Mandy..

as far as Generazioni...  and RPI in general...I'm all too aware that with not fully understanding the language yet I am still missing out on key elements of the music. Funnily though I am militantly against English vocals in RPI though (in preference)... it was one thing about the Crystals album that bugged me on the first listen.  English just isn't as 'musical' a language as Italian obviously.  Oh well.... I'm working hard on my language lessons... Raff is giving me all kinds of help. Maybe by the time we meet again...  you can tease me about my imperfect Italian.

good job Mandy... that is what I hinted to Ben earlier in the thread.... the shear variety of RPI (Italian prog regardless of PAs subs) out there.

I just realized I didn't even put a single album from outside the 70's on my list.  hhahahah..  Might have to expand mine  to 75....Wink.  No Ubi Maior.. No Maschera Di Cera...  No Deus Ex Machina...  wow...

Good list, Andrea.

Certainty you are better grasped in the contemporary Prog. And this enlivens a lot this discussion.

Nevertheless I noted still a time that only I succeed to find something of original to introduce.  It will be that I am the craziest one between those who they dirty PA?  Or the most utopian?  Limmagine%20“http://www.freegratisonline.com/immagini/emoticons/110x110/festose/emoticon-festose-06.gif”%20non%20può%20essere%20visualizzata%20poiché%20contiene%20degli%20errori.Limmagine%20“http://www.freegratisonline.com/immagini/emoticons/110x110/animoticons/animoticons01.gif”%20non%20può%20essere%20visualizzata%20poiché%20contiene%20degli%20errori.Limmagine%20“http://www.freegratisonline.com/immagini/emoticons/110x110/musicali/emoticons-musicali-04.gif”%20non%20può%20essere%20visualizzata%20poiché%20contiene%20degli%20errori.Limmagine%20“http://www.freegratisonline.com/immagini/emoticons/110x110/3d/emoticons-3d-08.gif”%20non%20può%20essere%20visualizzata%20poiché%20contiene%20degli%20errori.Limmagine%20“http://www.freegratisonline.com/immagini/emoticons/110x110/allegre/emoticons-allegre-08.gif”%20non%20può%20essere%20visualizzata%20poiché%20contiene%20degli%20errori.

Fantastic album. Last years prog fave. Deserves a spot in the list, but I only chose albums from the 70's decade.
