Laika: Lost In Space (1983- 2003)
I found this double CD the other day in a bargain bin and bought it mostly because of the cute cover art. When I put it on the Cd player I was quite postively surprised. I couldn't file this music under a label, but I like it ... it has some ambient elements, great electronic rhythm work, some minimal tunes, a good singer, some catchy melodies & grooves and on the BBC John Peel recordings, they can actually play live a mean funk-jazz groove.

Martin, a cute cover indeed. I personally have no experience with the band, but have been doing a little extra research, this seems like something I could get into. Supposedly their debut album Silver Apples of the Moon, is gifted with avant-garde taints. Lost in Space gets some promsing reviews; stating a good entry point, containing a mix of forgotten songs, remixes and hits.

Sounds good to me from the description. I'll also try and find some of it to listen to.
Thanks, Martin.
