I'm not sure whether anyone has already posted this up and I have missed it but in case noone has Van der Graaf Generator's new album (the first one since 1978) is to be released (in England) on April 25th and will be entitled 'Present'.It will be a double cd cd 1 being songs and cd2 being improvisations some websites are already taking advanced orders and details of these can be found on Phil Smarts site at http://www.vandergraafgenerator.co - www.vandergraafgenerator.co uk The band has also announced further dates to their reunion 'tour' in Milan and Rome after the fast sellout of the tix at the RFH gig in London these may well fly fairly quickly too I personnally hope they do more UK shows or Paris which is easy and cheap to get to these days( and a wonderful city to spend some time in!)

I for one can't wait to hear this new material as I have been an avid fan of PH/VDGG for about 25 years never been fortunate enough to see the full band live(they disbanded before I became enlightened) so the prospect of seeing them now fills me with absolute delight I CAN'T FLIPPIN' WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The First 3 VdGG albums (The Least We Can Do... H to HE and Pawn Hearts) are to be re-issued to co-incide with the bands reunion 'tour.'
They are remastered,re-packaged and...wait for it...added to !!!
I presume that the rest of the catalogue will be staggered throughout the rest of the year.

More details can be found at Peter Hammill's Sofa Sound
website on the Open (white paper) Letter Page.

-------------

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

You can hear 30 second extracts from the new album here.  Sounding good to me.
