I was lucky enough to attend the Acoustic Strawbs concert on Saturday here in NYC.  I've seen this band in the last year as their usual 5-piece prog band... and a couple of times in an acoustic guitar setting with just 3 members.  This Saturday the lineup was David Cousins, Dave Lambert and Chas Cronk and they always do the greatest of shows. Watching "Ghosts" and "Autumn" done acoustically is a real thrill and they added a lot of songs this time, I haven't heard them do before like "Lemon Pie" and "Hard, Hard Winter".  Adding Chas to the lineup was nice this time because he adds an acoustic bass which is really nice... and David Cousins, forever the storyteller, is still his very English, very eccentric self.... voice and all!  And he tells some funny stories about when Rick Wakeman played with them.

They'll be playing a week in Montreal soon, if any of you get a chance to see them, you really should.

Hi Threefates, That sounds great, Ive seen Dave Cousins do an acoustic set a few times solo, but the last time was probably 10 years ago! Good to see he is still a very entertaining guy.

I used to love it when he sung Lemon Pie, thats the one song that always stood out for me.

I love that song too, Petra... but my favorite is "Grace Darling".. and they didn't do it this time during their set.. so after their set, he picked up the guitar and played it for me at the bar... He's still a great guy.
