There is, to memory, but one Tull tune that mentions chess explicity: "The chessboard of the dawn" on Stormwatch's "Something's on the Move."
Other than that, I'll add (because no one else will) Rainbow's (prog-related) piece "Kill the King," which I swear is about chess. And the ultimate chess prog piece:
Isildurs Bane's "Holistic Medicine" off their album "MIND vol 1". It is really a game of chess set to music, where the spoken lyrics describe the moves of a complete game.

Funnily enough, the sleevenotes to The Yes Album actually made this point about prog rock songs about chess- they listed Your Move and Gryphon's 'Red Queen...' as well.
There is The Enid's album 'Six Pieces' which has a chessboard on the cover, I seem to recall.

I love that piece so much, I actually grabbed a chessboard one day and started playing the actual game the voice describes. The way the music gets more intense as the game progresses and the tension on the board grows is wonderful, perfectly coinciding with every movement. However, towards the end of the track things seem to fall apart, since when he says "resigns" in the end, moves are still possible on the board (the king is not completely cornered, so to speak). Maybe you can shed some light on that - did they just give up telling the whole game or am I missing something? Of course, assuming you were crazy enough to try it yourself, which had better not be true.
 Also, Ephel Duath make a chess reference on "The Other's Touch" from The Painter's Palette, where they say something about a game between chessmen of only one colour, form the point of view of the chessboard itself ("the battlefield"). ------------- Tous les chemins qui s’ouvrent à moi ne mènent à rien si tu n’es plus là |

A spectactular bonus track from the Cos-album Postaeolian Train Robbery - La partie d'échecs. Previously unreleased from their pre-Cos days when they were called 'Classroom'. Taken from Sean Trane's review: 'La Partie D’Echecs is hilarious as she tells us that the white pawn of the chess game is lifting her dress and the vile bishop slayed her, the whole thing sung at such a speed that one would’ve wondered if their Lp was not on 45 RPM' (had this been ever released at the time of course) ------------- Over land and under ashes In the sunlight, see - it flashes Find a fly and eat his eye But don't believe in me Don't believe in me Don't believe in me |

Oh, and there's also "The Morals of Chess", a two-minute drum solo by Virgil Donati from his album Just Add Water, a guaranteed jaw-dropper, although the actual connection with chess is probably only in the title.

Not my favourite of his, but the LP cover comes in handy if you lose your chess board.

| Isuldur's Bane did a lengthy piece on their MIND vol 1 album that featured lots of spoken chess moves. Can't remember what it was called off-hand. It's a good track though - hits you with an unexpected and very catchy guitar riff about 10 minutes in! |

Infact, "no more travelling chess" is a line from "In the End", which is from Peter Hammill's album "Chameleon in the Shadow of the Night". The line "No more rushing around, no more travelling chess;" related back to when Hammill and David Jackson (I think), played travel chess on the tourbus (which they shared with Genesis and Lindesfarne on the 6 bob tours). "Fool's Mate" is in relation to the fastest way to get some in Check Mate. Hammill even refers to Alice in Wonderland, but not in relation to Chess, on his album "Over". -------------

'Dance Of The Knights' Prokoviev was adapted by ELP and called 'Romeo And Juliet'.
The ELP track 'The Miracle' also has the lyric ''The Bishop Takes The Pawn''
By the way the qickest way to deliver checkmate is :
1g4 e5 (or e6)
2 f3 (or f4) Qh4
fascinating for non chess players I expect
